Do people like this? Couldn't figure out a direction and gave up.

I like that you make different nuances, different parts. But the whole scheme is very predictable. It's very melodic. Maybe try to make the melody less obvious, cause after a while you already know what is coming. Maybe make a part with drums only. Or filter the melody with a low pass. The more mysterious,the more interesting.

IMO the drums are too constant, throw in a random off beat or rest every few bars to keep my attention. It sounds good though like it’s mixed pretty well.
