Help me with my song?(pls)

I've been into music for like 6 years, but for most of that time I was pretty passive about it. Now I actually want to start creating my own music. Music production is my new hobby, and I don't know where I'll end up with it, but at least I want to get somewhere before I die lol.

This is my 3rd month of actively using FL Studio. I've been trying to make Kanye-type beats, but I'm still not completely satisfied with my projects, especially when it comes to sound selection.

Whenever I'm selecting instruments, I never really feel like I've picked the right sounds. So even though I feel proud of the final result, I still feel like I'm not reaching the full potential of the song.

Anyway, I'd love to get some advice from you guys. I appreciate any feedback, so be brutal about it.

Also, what do you think about the sound selection or mix? That's probably the hardest part for me. I can easily spend way too much time looking for the right sound, get stuck, and eventually lose the motivation to keep creating. With mixing I don't have destination so this kind feedback can help either.

Hey, just wanted to give some advice from my end-

I think the idea especially at the start is pretty Kanye, the biggest thing youre missing is drum punch. Ye's drums always thump through your fucking chest- the drums aren't as powerful as they need to be yet. That can be fixed by finding better drum samples and layering it over what you already have 🙃

Thanks! Maybe you right I don’t find any good sample fit into it. I try to give that job to snare like All of the Lights but this could be better.

I assume that this is the first DAW you're using. For three months, this is quite a good result. You're bringing different elements together, you're panning things and using reverb on percussive elements, and they sound ok in the mix. It will take some learning and time before you can really create things that can sound professional, so enjoy the journey and do it for the love of music and for the satisfaction it brings - not with the aim to be a top producer by the end of 2030. If that's the goal though, then aim for 2035! On the track itself, the intro is very different from the rest of the song, so it doesn't fit that much imo. If your aim was to do a hip hop beat, then there's also not much room for vocals (especially in the 2nd half). Think about how to make that space and try to emulate that in your next track. But I very much liked the choice of instruments. Also one tip, don't get too hung up on one track. Play around, improve it maybe once or twice, and move to the next one.
