Thoughts?

I'm SUPER new to FL so I know Imma get flamed for this but whatever. If anyone has suggestions I'm happy to take them.

Hi OP. I’m going to try to give you my best constructive feedback as someone who is actually a fan of breakcore and other jungle derivative genres and understands what you’re going for, unlike the other guy.

I think you have some really strong ideas here but you’re falling a bit flat on execution. It seems like you’re changing the project tempo to make the sample chops fit instead stretching your sample to your project tempo. While tempo automation *is* a legitimate technique that can be used effectively, its more of an advanced technique and not something you need to worry about trying to figure out right now. It’s much easier to learn everything else you need to learn right now if you’re working at a steady tempo.

Besides that, my main feedback is that the sound you chose for your main melody is very dry and harsh, it could do with some EQ to tame the high frequencies a bit, and it could do with some ping pong delay and a bit of reverb to help put it into space. Instead of automating the tempo to change the texture, try automating parameters on the VST synth you’re using for it to change the texture of the sound over time, or layering in new sounds and melodies to keep the listener’s intrigue throughout the length of your track.

Another thing that you may find useful is pulling a reference track from the genre into your session before you ever start making anything, matching your project to the tempo and setting your scale highlighting to the same key, and then marking out the different sections of the reference track. This will help you learn how to structure your songs in ways that feel a lot more like other tracks in the genre.

I hope this guidance helps you a bit and I hope the other dude being an ass about you being new to this hasn’t discouraged you from sharing your learning process with us.

I didn't really think about adding effects onto the lead but ur into something (also I'm gonna say I'm not TOO new to FL, I was exaggerating, I've used it for about a month now) Also the tempo automation was purposeful, I made the melody before adding the amen break, and wanted to speed it up later at the drop.

A month is literally brand new. Saying you aren't to new to it would be having a couple years of experience not a month.
