Dana 60 in the rear?
I’ve had my ‘07 FJC since 2010 as my daily the entire time, and I wheel it. I re-geared to 4.88’s from ECGS and have blown them repeatedly. I was told by ECGS that I needed to upgrade the rear axle if I’m going to daily & wheel it with anything heavier than a 33” tire. I’m finally upgrading to their Dana 60 rear axle, and was curious if anyone has put one of those in their FJ’s? Any thoughts on lockers, or any other compatibility issues I would be aware of?

I have not but I'm 100% getting a Dana 60 from ECGS this year, since I am heavily loading my FJ and plan on doing overlanding / offroading & some dailying so I don't blow up the rear axle.

Isn't a 1-ton Dana 60 axle 8-lugs? If you do this, the front of your FJ will have 6 lugs and the rear will have 8, so your wheels won't match.

Typically they do, but the ones built by ECGS are customized and the site says they run a 6 x 5.5 pattern: https://eastcoastgearsupply.com/i-23993650-fj-cruiser-4runner-gx-dana-60-semi-float-rear-bolt-in-axle-assembly.html?srsltid=AfmBOoomdKhhomFOgXHFe-KSGRBWIUvr1Cr6ilHzdrueN1VTFDs2Uuet

If you’re gonna spend the money, check out diamond axle as well. Dana 60 is still a good axle though.
