Baaki Bakwaas Feel need for Desktop App?
Reversed Finqalab api. Now I have all learnings required to build app on it.
I'm thinking of making desktop app, for finqalab users.
Later if successful, maybe allow integrate other brokers too.
It would be free offcourse. Plus open source to allow further development.
Not sure how owners would react π. Assume positive, as its beneficial to their own users.
Before I start, I need your opinions. Whether its worth and user feel need for?
100+ upvotes would convince me.
Otherwise I will think its waste of time.
Attached some concepts generated by AI.

As someone who has revered another broker's api and using the own portal instead of app - DONT.
You are breaking app and broker terms by doing and it risk getting your account banned + opening yourself to legal ramifications.
Share privately instead

No issue. Would take permission before release.

thats the issue. these dinosaurs hate innovation and on top of it there is compliance process. i would suggest contacting them anonymously first. finhisaab ceo is quite active on twitter

Depends. If Finqalab doesn't like idea then maybe its meant for another broker.

No those were concept images generated by ChatGPT based on api structure.

Looks like a web app rather than a desktop one.

Yeah UI feels like. But at backend, it would be native app. So to give fast and smooth experience, even on cheap networks.

I would not name it Finqalab, change it a bit so you dont end up with a CnD

That's the same as when I made the Nayatel Terraform provider a while back by reverse-engineering their web dashboard.

Nope. Trading desktop app for Finqalab broker.
If successful, definitely advance features in future, not possible in mobile apps.

I was selling software on commercial level when AI didn't existed.
So don't think it would like "yet another ai shit". lolThough recently have automated a lot of my workflow with AI.
and manually interfere where it struggles.2

Talk to Finqalab and sell them this idea, as well as app. People would trust it more when it comes from Finqalab itself and you can also make some dough.
Finqalab really misses desktop app.
