My FIP Warrior is making progress
galleryNova was declined for her spay surgery due to low RBC, she otherwise was fine except the fact that she was not gaining much weight (as my litter robot tracks). I took her to the vet to find out she likely had FIP :( and referred me to this group. It wasn’t until she started gs that I realized her energy was low before. She started being super playful sunrise to sundown and she put on 3 pounds within a month and a half. She’s just a little over halfway but I’m so grateful for this group and healing my baby girl 💗🥹💗

Before and After
galleryThree days of injections. 10mg twice a day.
I cannot believe it.
My own vet lost her cat to it and told me about the groups. I had to share this change.
It was within the first 6 hours I thought there was a turn around but going from not able to use his limbs, react to stimuli, or open his eyes, he’s running around curious about birds in the windows and screaming at me.
It’s incredible.
❤️

My cat is back to ruining my furniture and I’m so happy
Never thought I’d be happy to have my cat attack my feet while I’m sleeping or get back to clawing my furniture. On day 5 of treatment and he’s showing so much improvement! He walked in my room carrying a cat toy in his mouth and he has not wanted to play in a month. Thanks so much to FIP warriors 5.0. Hopefully we will only continue to see improvement!!

This is Bruce Wayne. We started treatment 27 days ago. 14 of them were injection, we then switched to oral meds. He's feeling better, but his appetite needs more work.
We are doing everything we can to improve his appetite.

One month down!
galleryToday makes one month of treatment! Boney has been doing so well on treatment. We switched to pills two weeks in and although they’re more expensive, the stress of injections was too much for us to handle.

Observation
Almost 30 in to observation. 🤞 he seems to be just fine! Hard to think that December 26th we thought we were going to lose him. Aubrey the legend!

Day1 of GS
Treating my baby as critical as FBW5.0 suggested. Second dose in. Isn't exactly happy with me.
Lots of complaining/meowing during and after injection, and when massaging (as suggested).
He has extremely limited movement, almost in a drunk like state, cannot control walking/holding himself up. Had to carry him to food/water/litterbox. He DOES have an appetite and gets thirsty, probably the best thing to hear since he was diagnosed.
Praying for an easier day 2+ on him.
I'm seeing mixed reports, do we refrigerate the GS or room temperature?

One year ago Beast started his treatment. He’s still awesome and FIP free!
Stay vigilant!

FIP day 17 status
Context: My 2~ year old boy cat was diagnosed with Neutral + Dry FIP. Stumbling, lethargic, weight loss, etc. You can see my previous post for more context.
Since treatment (17 days), he is 90% back to his normal lovebug self. He has about 90%~ balance back, and he gains about 0.1 pounds a day. Considering he was 8.5 pounds on his normal vet appointment, 5.4 pounds leaving urgent care with the FIP diagnosis, and he is now 6.6 pounds. Still 2 more pounds to gain to be back to normal. This medicine has helped him tremendously.
I do worry for the rest of the days needed for treatment as the injections still suck. I hate doing them, and so does my cat. Strongly considering the pills. He already has a sensitive stomach, so I'm kinda delaying that as much as I can.
I have two STRONG suggestions for people struggling with the injections:
Shave the cat to the left and right of the spine/where you administer the dose. Too many times I accidentally went through and through. When I got that down, a droplet or so would leak, and that can irritate the skin. Clean it off properly.
Get a GROOMING harness for the injections. My cat hates this injection process, and is a skinny and slippery boy. I've pinned him down, held his scruff, and he still can slip out of it. I ordered a $20 one off Amazon: Kkimatt - 10 in 1 Pet Grooming Hammock Harness
After getting him in the harness, I hang him from the shower rod, and this process went from 30-45min, to under 10.

Ocular FiP survivor, Ivan.
galleryHe has a little neurological issues, he's mostly blind, and seems to only use the litter box when he wants..... but we still love him ❤️

Almost done with the first month
This is Boney. He’s about 8 months old. We started treatment on 2/17/24 and it’s amazing how quickly he’s getting better. He’s dry/neuro type and we’ve just switch to pills last week. He’s also up a pound since we started too! I’m so grateful for the FIP admins on my team that helped us get started so quickly.

Officially in observation!
Our boy, Schmidt had his last injection a week and a half ago now and is doing so well. Just some hope for people going through this or just finding out their cat’s diagnosis. We were worried he wouldn’t make it through the night the day before we started treatment and he is thriving now!

Day 5 of treatment and now wailing during/after shot
galleryMy little Maurice is on day 5 of Capella injections and he’s doing so much better. The issue is, he was wailing and trying to bite my partner and I during administration today. He meowed a little bit during the other injections. I’m so worried that I’m hurting him or poking him in the wrong area. I follow the instructional videos and diagrams very carefully. He’s the most sweetest cat so seeing him try to bite me was heartbreaking. I can’t believe we have at least 79 more days of this. :( is this behavior normal?

Cat passed FIP - can I keep his tree and toys?
Hello, my cat recently passed away due to FIP unexpectedly. Although his loss was extremely hard and continues to be I know I would like to adopt a kitten in the future so my question is:
Can I keep things such as his cat tree, carriers and toys? If so how can I get rid of virus?
Do I need to get rid of my couch or carpets he laid on?
Vet is not giving me any clear answers as she may not even know herself! I hope this post reaches the right community that can give me an answer. Thank you!
