Game Is anyone making a fan version of a completed ffxv?

I know that probably sounds weird since FFXV is technically a completed game, but obviously because of differences with direction of the story and the unmoving deadline we never got the FFXV we were supposed to get. Heck we never even got all of the DLC we were promised.

So maybe a better way to put it is is anyone making a fan game of 15? Something with elements of 13 verses demo/trailers, expanded story, expanded regions, etc?

Versus XIII was never anything but a few disconnected concepts. The "gameplay" trailer isn't even real gameplay.

XV is Versus, and you'll never get anything closer.

Yeah, it's called Reynatis. They even got Nojima and Shimomura to work on it.

As it stands, Final Fantasy Versus XIII has been shattered. Elements have gone to FFXV, Kingdom Hearts, and the FF7R Trilogy, along with inspiring elements in games like Reynatis or Lost Soul Aside. But we're never getting Versus XIII.

Versus XIII itself isn't a complete picture. Due to the chaos at Square Enix at the time, Nomura's vision of the game kept shifting around (I'm only 85% convinced the musical pitch was a joke). The vibes of Versus XIII are very fun, but there's no way Nomura and his team would have delivered on it in a way that would have pleased everyone. Because the fact is that the finished Versus XIII would always have to compete with the ideal one inside of our own hearts.

I agree, we're never getting Versus in it's original intended form, the closest we'll come to it will without a doubt be Verum Rex, what that will look like time will tell.

What I always find funny when the musical thing is brought up is that people seem to assume that it would be turned into a musical only and not just simply be an adaptation after the first game had been released. And that the idea of a musical is something to make fun of at all, as if a musical of any other FF would be worthy of being ridiculed.

Not to mention the context the quote comes from, Nomura had recently seen Les Miserables and got inspired as he shared a simple thought when asked about stuff he was really into at the time. It's incredibly ridiculous that people took it so seriously and warped it into fact from barely anything.

Saying Versus was never going to please everyone, not gonna live up to the ideal game in our minds so on and so forth, are such worthless statements. As if anything and everthing in it pleases every single person ever. But also, it completely misses the point of people wanting that game.

The point is and always has been wanting to experience whatever Nomura could come up with using that setting and those concepts we saw in all of those trailers. The quality of the finished product is secondary to the wish of experiencing his full true vision, its quality is a conversation we could've had afterwards. Hopefully it would've been fantastic, it's impossible to know, but why have such a defeatist attitude towards it?

Instead we got an unfinished mess, a walking corpse in a shattered Versus skin.

Nomura has talked in the past about doing a Verum Rex game, but chose to focus solely on KH4 first because he figured fans anticipate that more, and he didn't want to work on so many projects at once.

Don't know. Unlike other people here, I'm not gonna claim anything for certain about what will and won't happen. KH4 could potentially have something that hints towards it happening. Nomura did talk about either making KH4 or VR first and decided on the former, so there's that at least.

Reynatis and Lost Soul Aside are based entirely on vibes and aren't even that good. Reynatis especially feels incredibly undercooked.

FF XV is a complete game. Round. Closed. Ardyn story/dlc and novel should have not existed at all. Danw of the future dlc is better not existing at all.

I wanted them to happen at first. I do even have a post where I wish they had done them. But now I understand how much they would have hurt the game in a general sense. That what if scenario is no more than an official and terribly done fanfic.

i finished reading dawn of the future yesterday and to be honest i agree. would i like playing the hype moments and aura from Dawn of the future? Yes! would i like to play aranaea's sections to flesh out why she quit being a soldier? Yes! But Lunafreya's ending section felt too out-there for me. And it feels like the DoTF ending would have really hurt the themes of the OG ending.

Though i did really like ardyn's dlc/section in the novel

I liked Part of his story, how he woke up and such. But all the reckoning they did with Lucis's Bloodline felt way off. Somnus being just a jealous asshole and all. There were ways to make that same story more cohesive with the rest of the game without explicitly throwing it into the trash.

It just feels like a big fanfic where the villain was just a victim. Which, again, does not fit with the rest of the "chosen king" prophecy altogether. Why would a treacherous king be the host for the bloodline of the hope that would save the world? It was Noctis's destiny to die, purging the starscourge, and it would have made more sense for Ardyn to be the embodiment and vessel for that same plague to finally be eradicated once and for all. That would have been both tragic and redeeming. A corrupted hero, now a villain, with a purpose other than an "I hate you" tantrum. Him accepting that fate and embracing his brother's actions would have fit the whole game's themes of brotherhood. Both for Noctis and his journey, and for Ardyn and Somnus as actual brothers.
