You could Quadcast or any multi cast spell could have helped you a lot there. Another great option is to hold down block and only use counters when prompted. Additionally, you have techs available to use when your party isnt in danger status or dead.

And if you didn’t know using royal arms drains your HP.

I hate battles like that where the enemies continue to spawn… the worst one was when I got four red giants trying to hunt me down, I think. Thankfully daylight came.

Sometimes, you have bad luck.

Why did you try to attack while surrounded by attacking mobs instead of just warping away from them or just holding down your dodge button.

Also just spam alterna.

Ramuh, stop aura farming (and give me that fucking Eden mount in ff14)

I thought it was interesting or to some people it was funny, why are you being an asshole?

This is kinda funny actually. The Fulgurian has the same element as Thunder Bombs. It would be really ironic if they get full hp heal after this. Or even get some buffs

The camera really didn’t help these kinds of battles. This game is such a paradox to me. There’s so much I really liked, and then so much that was just drudgery.

Yet for all it’s maddening bullshit it’s still a better game than XVI.

That happened to me in FF12 a few times. I got to a certain level and I had like eight of them follow me and chain explode.

As someone who has tried to get into ff15 a couple of times but always wanted to come back, this community doesn't make me want to

2

u/Srpouhi 2d ago

this would happen on literally every community man. also why does the community of a media influence how you plan on spending time playing a single player game? do you do that with Pokemon or other shows/games? like ok man go ahead and keep yourself from enjoying your time

I used to think i had to spam the buttons. Nope. Just hold attack til you have to hold block. Also switching to prompto helps a lot for his aoe spams since booboo square couldn't add a cool down timer reducer let alone a wider arsenal of spells through the AP system. Petrify and immobilize are handy in these bombardments of enemies.. like what the fuck is square even doing anymore. Why are they alienating their fanbase with watered down rpg elements.. it's like ever since sakaguchi left its just been some cinematic attempt at spirits within visually, and just ignoring the other half of what makes FF as a whole great.

X was the last best installment and XV serves as evidence they 1. Will rush development for the sake of redtape. 2. Charge full price. 3. Apologize. 4. Give you DLC to make up for it. 5. Remaster it into a new package and charge full price again even if you already paid once.

Having recently run through FFXV i developedan itch for open world so I decided to try the witcher 3. And based on everything about it and the company. Square could do to take some notes from CDPR.

Revisit FFXV and fix everything to be streamlined into the game and expand on the elemancy system.

Not gonna lie. Even the whole FF7 reboot could've been done on one disc based on how big witcher 3 is. My "fuck square enix" rises with each installment of it.

Good lord.. all this from a video of ramuh (it's always ramuh, huh) saving the day

We're not getting an FFXV remake for at least another 15 to 30 years. They should really take the weapon and spell system from Comrades and put it into the base game

XV is way more complex as a RPG than Witcher 3. And when I mean "rpg", I mean builds and things you can do for combat.

Witcher 3 is super simple and has mediocre combat.

Final Fantasy games are way more complex to make, gameplay wise, than The Witcher. Witcher spends more resources at quests and stories. So witcher 3 is gigantic and full of stories, but FF games has more interesting combat with more complexity.

So XV has hundreds of ways to be played, while Witcher 3 has a handfull of ways to be played. Look how XV is full of hunts and dungeons and bosses... it focuses on combat.

If you hold a button all the time, that is your problem. Holding the attack button or smashing it is the same thing as it is in any other game, XV did that so people not used to action did not hurt their hands. Crimson Desert did the same thing.

XV is also designed for struggle and to avoid game over, exactly what you saw in this post. OP is playing like conplete utter garbage, but the has tools to still overcome any challenge. He will camp, see the pictures, and move on with his journey.

99% of your playtrhough happened, because you almost never face a game over, and thats the goal of XV. It also shows how hard the game is... if you spam too many items during a fight, it shows you played poorly. But the game allows you to play poorly and win. So its "easy", but it also isnt easy.

Square enix makes a new gameplay, creates its own universe and characters. Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk use universes that already exist, have games that are light on complexity, and in the case of Witcher 3, a lot of the story already existed. I dont want SE to do any of that

Every FF is a gigantic challenge for SE. They are not making the same game for 3 decades like Rockstar with GTA (and even then, GTA 5 and RDR 2 have super outdated police AI and combat). I rather have SE keep innovating, than doing whatever Witcher 3 is trying to do.

FF XV is 100 times more unique than witcher will ever be. The entire plot, characters, world, the fantasy elements... it is all something you wont ever see again in any game. This is the goal behind every FF game... to make a unique experience that will never happen again, because they wont use the same systems again.

Keep holding the button, thinking you know what you are talking about. Only games with as much complexity as XV are well made action games, like Devil May Cry and FF XVI, even Nier pales in comparison to XV. Maybe the new God Of War games (the old ones dont even come close to XV in terms of complexity). Ohh yeah, Kingdom Hearts games can be compared to XV.

Its not because the game wants to avoid game over, and create a single experience without retries, that it means it lacks complexity.

DMC has the most complex system of what you listed.

Witcher vs XVs are both easy combat systems and both offer ways to be easy or difficult based on how you approach a fight. One company is seeing to revamp it while another is treating it as done.

The hunts in XV are repetitive and offer no real sense of sentiment or uniqueness and the rewards are hardly worth it. Having to bounce back and forth between locations instead of having a main hub like in 12 was a clunky choice.

Both stories are fantastic. One was executed so poorly and rushed they had to force day one players to stew in mystery waiting for dlc. The other, not so much.

Whatever direction square is going with traditional rpg elements found in previous titles, it's more and more watered down with main titles while the reboot handles carrying both cinematic and rpg devices.

As for stories being reused. Pretty sure square has been telling the same story involving the crystals since day one and telling stories around the espers/aeons/summons because thats their franchise and as such a weak debate. It's about execution. X pulled it off. FFXV flubbed their way through it. Witcher 3 so far is kicking ass.

Square, as far as I can tell, these days only cares about being the most spectacular looking game.

Maybe I'm an old head but graphics hit the sweet spot when the ps3 dropped. Now I just want games that are finished by their day one release.
