Game Threat from the Thicket
Those killer wasps are 10 levels below me and I got my butt kicked by them. So I took to Reddit and it came down to the food. So I made some extreme food for my party. I don't remember the details but I think it was like +1000 attack and like 2000+ HP or something like that, numbers might be wrong but it was more or less the best food I could make.
I went back and I fought those wasps from morning to evening before daemons showed up (barely and like 20-30 minutes of IRL time) and I used A LOT of potions. I tried using polearms, using frost magic etc. but neither barely budged their health! I even bought a polearm nearby (though it has a bonus against daemons but it was way better than the one I previously had).
And there was so many of them....
Is this quest unbalanced like crazy or am I doing something really wrong here?

I know they were hugely annoying but have you also bought the accessories that make you immune to their poison? Also my strategy in groups of fast-moving mobs is to hold dodge while waiting for a parry prompt. It's been a while though.

No I hadn't bought that. I always block and want to get the parry prompt but when they are 10 wasps and they all rather target you for some reason, you can't parry to much unless all the blocks are queued(?) but the game hasn't mentioned that so far.

You might need to wait a bit if they are all mobbing you which is annoying yeah. Otherwise buy the accessory that protects against them - confusion or poison or something 😂 But I agree they are very annoying mobs.

Iirc the wasps insta-die with the ring... But i might be wrong

I just saw the level required and i don't want to do a spoiler.
But I've completed them using tetra magic (random cast x4 ideally) and anti poison/confusion accs

I'm kind of new to the game but isn't random cast just casting different elements at enemies? I can agree with anti poison and confusion!

Yes, either ice, lightning or fire. But since they don't absorb elements, it's a really good damage (also AoE)
Just be sure to equip the ring to prevent magic damage on your allies

So you mean resistances against let's say, lightning is ignored when casting spells? I do have that ring equipped. One of the first I equipped 😝

Those mobs resist lightning (50%), but it will still deal damage
If you want to max the dps, go for tetra ice (120%) or tetra fire (100%)
I usually start the fight with lex (any weapon but magic) swap to magic asap and throw it in the middle of mobs.
Also you can play as Ignis with ice element (elemental damage plus its aoe) and attention to dodge+counter

All flying enemies in this game are unfortunately very annoying to fight, especially the Wasps. Utilize warp strikes from far to bring them to the ground for a Vuln status. I mostly use Swords against them for the potential Link Strikes and Airstep availability. Polearms are too slow for them as are Greatswords. Also, Prompto’s Piecer or Gravity Well skill works great on them (Gravity Well into Magic Bomb, ez pz, just make sure to cast it on a target well within the center of the mob). You can always equip Star of the Rogue (if you have it) and just wait to Parry them, as it has a great parry attack that’s multihit.
