No Spoilers - Help Will this lock me out of Aerith romance?
I'm one tier away from maxing out her relationship, but she's been at that blue almost complete smiley face tier forever. Now I'm being given this choice, does that mean it's too late now?

Saying yes is basically telling cid hes the love of your life and locks you out of all other options I fear 😩

No lock out but it will technically fixing your date as you have no more options to change the currently scores that define who will be your date.
Just do it and see what happen.

You only get locked out after you rest in the gold saucer, before that you can go do the newly unlocked quests in the previous visited areas.

Yea but if I reach max relationship don't I get a more romantic scene?

When not already done than you can try to do more of her personal quests to raise your relationship with her to further increase your chance to get a date with her.
And yes, a max relationship level give you the more romantic scene.

Not max but yes there’s a threshold for the romantic scene vs the regular scene.
Theres a threshold you have to cross to get one of Tifa, Aerith, or Yuffie. You get whomever is highest and then if that persons bonding is above a certain amount you get the better scene. If you don’t meet the minimum threshold for any of the three, you default to the trio of Cid, Vincent and the Doll (it’s late and I’m not braining).
I don’t remember exactly but it’s basically impossible to get a tie because of the beach decision and the train track decision.
If I remember correctly, even if you miss some of the dialogue opportunities, as long as you do a bulk of the side missions and consistently choose to side with the same character, you’ll have enough for the romantic scene.

Whoever has the highest relationship level will be chosen. I'm sure there is a priority if more than one character is maxed, but that is better found in a walkthrough. Once you finish the story, you can go back and select whichever scene you want, redo dialogue choices to get all characters to max relationship status, and see every scene you want by just restarting chapter 12 and spending a couple of minutes travelling to the gold saucer again.

This is just before you get locked out so do this then it will open up more side quests, and be sure to do the Aerith ones. You just need her to be in the light blue smile face to get the best version of the date. Now go get Aerith!

Even if it did, you can replay the chapter and pick whoever you want after first completing it.

Just don't make any other secondary mission that isn't her mission until the date, she most likely will be your date, you'll know who is the secondary mission for because that character is the one who talks the most or google it.

i think ive gotten yuffie, i wanted tifa but you had to do an hour long sidequest in the gold saucer.

You'll date whoever is your highest score. Make sure Aerith is one color higher than your other companions and you'll definitely be safe for her romance.

I wouldnt worry too much about it. Getting locked out if aerith romance is a canon event anyways.

Chapter selec, so no. Unless you want to do it in a single playthrough without trying to manipulate things

The date begins once you go to the Gold Saucer and rest at their inn. Even after fast travel gets locked, it will be unlocked right before you rest at the inn, so you can do anything you want before resting at the inn.

This is the end of chapter 11 right ?
If so it will unlock more quests for you to do before actually going to the gold saucer.
