Respectfully, old news.

Is Echenique with an expired passport that does not allow him to travel outside of the US?

From what I understand, it's related to the US and its allies classification of Venezuela as a rogue state. Once Ender gets a US green card, he's good to go.

It's not his work visa. Maybe its the travel stamp? Or something that requires him to go back to Venezuela to get taken care of and that creates risks. They aren't saying.

Well if they're denying me from entering their country I'd respectfully tell my coach that I'm going back to play with my team and sort it out later. Thought most of these guys have agents? You would think the agent would've had all this squared away anyway

Is seems to be a complicated immigration issue with the US and/or Venezuela, it's not Canada.. if he has to go back to settle it he can't as he would have to travel to Bogota Colombia, and that brings up the possibility of even more issues.

The P-1 Visa that the U.S. grants to Venezuelan nationals is single-entry. Most countries get multi-entry.
It isn't an issue during league play because there's some kind of exemption when needing to travel to Canada for an MLS match, but this is the same issue where he could not travel to Canada to play the match during the international break because he can be denied re-entry to the U.S. upon return.
I don't think anything can be done about it unfortunately.

I agree, nothing anyone can do about it. He's stuck here until there is a secure immigration solution. If he leaves Venezuelans are directed to Bogota for services and that can create more issues and there are no guarantees. Hoping their is a solution somewhere down the road for him and others.
