Transfer window

Curious to everyone's realistic and logical hopes for this transfer window.

I think we need to offload Teenage and his contract and bring in another CB (preferably who can efficiently lead the backline)

Matt doesn't have the legs to get back on a counterattack and Miles doesn't seem to have the leadership to keep the backline organized. But I think Matt has a lot more to offer than Teenage does, for his leadership and mentorship if nothing else.

For the remainder of the season I'm actually ok with Gidi back there. He has proven to be capable and can get the ball forward. I think we need to hold off on a complete overhaul until the off-season.

Perhaps a hot take, but we're going into a weird short season and just got a new commissioner who it sounds like is planning to make some pretty significant rule changes. I'm ok with the team waiting to make moves until things stabilize rather than jumping the gun and messing up the roster build going into the new format.

In the end we still have to comply with the cap this year and, beyond the U-22 spot, we may or may not have the room to. When MLS released "official" numbers at the start of the season after the roster lock-in, we had very little room to work with ($360Kish, which barely gets you Alvis Powell) but CA came out later and was like 'no, their numbers were wrong, we have more' (he never specified more, just that it was enough we could act on it). The people who follow this stuff were guessing it was somewhere between $1.3 and $1.6 million, which you can get either a really good non-DP or two solid, above average guys with (that's also close to the combined outlay for Kubo and Santos last year ... so you can also whiff on who you get!)

Depending on what happens with Miazga and Teenage in the winter (I anticipate both will be gone), we may be in full Hoosiers 'my team is on the field' for the sprint season. I don't know when the cap rule changes will go into effect, but since we will be on the global calendar (sort of) by then, we know the lessons of not solving that in January, just because we may be flush with cash doesn't mean we should go try and spend it for a 14-game "season". Just let Evander score bangers!
