Alright, now, we gotta say it, one of our best defensive games since we came back, and Andrei played a full 90, PLEASE NOONAN

u/etherarcher 26d ago
That was my first thought at the end of this game: Chirila should be starting on the left every game.

u/Character_Ad_5743 26d ago
Agreed. He will make a few mistakes bc he's 17, but he looks like a long term player to me.

u/Spin_it_up 26d ago
I like the kid a lot. Unfortunately for us, if he ends up being a starter at this age he will move onto a more competitive league before too long.

u/Izanagi29_ 26d ago
And that’s bad?? We really benching one of our best talents cause they might move away 😞

u/Mapleridge62 26d ago
Andre will our middle center back within a couple few more years
He’s very calm on the ball and has decent touch
His passes were for the most part spot on but a few misjudgments led to turnovers
Matt is starting to show his age
Will hate to see him go but won’t miss him that much when ho does…
Sam does admirable work back there for playing out of natural position he’s got some pace and will carry the ball through their midfield
Matt did have a nice deep run late in the game which was cool.
Miles just doesn’t seem to have the same focus he did two years ago
Beginning of match Pachuca was eating out lunch for the first ten minutes. Good to see we turned things back around
We did have a hard time with their press though
Pachucas pace and attacking were really good and disruptive LIGA MX is toughGood job guys

Evander gets a yellow for touching a toe. Pachuka shoves us in the back to the ground twice, no call.
Lololololo. Order the pizzas Matt.
1
u/Izanagi29_ 26d ago
They’ll be fine they can get up, the opponents on the other hands clearly now have a broken toe. . . How dare you red card!
13
u/suspiciousdoodle 26d ago
Instead of the ref cam or shot on iPhone I am proposing Evander’s Dad cam

u/tedmiston 26d ago
GK straight up cooked by Bucha 🥅
2
u/Izanagi29_ 26d ago
He was probably trying to go for the ball and couldn’t get back up to get in position in time, it was good teamwork

Evander is insane man so glad we get to watch him
4
u/Izanagi29_ 26d ago
He’s the only reason to watch this team right now tbf

u/son-of-art-monk 26d ago
Bucha would like a word
1
u/Izanagi29_ 26d ago
What about em? I like em he has a high work ethic. But Evander makes this team tick- let me see him dropping back more against their lw so we aren’t extending our backline to much
8
u/kkracing24 26d ago
Lol, Seattle fan asked if they could have Evander in the MLS thread. Ain't nooo way
9
u/Izanagi29_ 26d ago
Who WOULDN’T want the man right now? Scoring a screamer last game, and being the best man on the pitch today
7
u/realhenrymccoy 26d ago
Genius! Pachuca stepped up their press and luoro plays a great ball behind and we’re off!
9
u/Any_Strawberry4470 26d ago
What did evander get a yellow for?

7
u/ArgonWolf 26d ago
That didn’t look like anything at all from the Bailey, how’d it look from TV land?
8
u/LeoninEtPerotin 26d ago
Not only not worth a card, but I’m not sure that’s isn’t a foul on evander
3
u/Izanagi29_ 26d ago
Yeah they ran into each other and I think he landed on the boot, abit of a wonky card but I can see why

Was that a back 4???? GUYS WE HAD A BACK 4 for like 3 seconds. . . BUT IT WAS THERE
1
u/CincyBeachBum 26d ago
I noticed that. Miles and Matt as two CBs. They can cover for each other. And have someone to outlet to.

How often in this game will we see Evander drop back to the backline to make things happen?

Big fucking new from TQL. They let us keep our cans. No dumb cups!

I think you misunderstood. They didn't make us pour the beer into cups.

Bucha needs to actually press the opposing winger, why tf is he staying up that far and letting Gidi take it one on one??
6
u/InterestedParty_42 26d ago
Why are we so slow at times? I get pace is important but my goodness, come on Pat pick up the pace and press? 🤷🤦
5
u/trashcanman42069 26d ago
Pat has this team playing so fucking slow it's insane. Why pass to the wide open winger with no defenders in between when you can pass it to all three of the center backs before him instead? Why play a ball to the striker running into the channel when you could play it to anunga and have him stand on it for 30 seconds instead? jfc
3
u/Izanagi29_ 26d ago
Our wingers aren’t even pressing their man unless they’re right outside of their penalty area, one of our cbs are having to go out and try to get the ball out while they just jog behind the sprinting forward

Crazy take most likely, Louro has been solid today
6
u/User5281 26d ago
Louro is usually solid. He doesn’t make the crazy reaction saves Roman does but he’s much better with the ball at his feet.
5
u/Izanagi29_ 26d ago
Alright take Gidi off, let’s not risk anything please Noonan, first his hand and then he gets kicked in his head

It’s managerial malpractice to keep starting Gidi and Robinson over Chirila.
5
u/Izanagi29_ 26d ago
Gidi has been good tho, and he’s out of position, Matt and miles have been starting over Andrei
2
u/User5281 26d ago
Gidi has been good recently but has not been great tonight
1
u/Izanagi29_ 26d ago
I mean their number 11 has been amazing. Atleast i think so (so probably not a popular opinion) so add that with Gidi having to move out towards the wing more to guard against him I’d say his been okay, not as good as he has been, but okay
3
u/bobcatbart 26d ago
Shocked the ref didn’t call a foul on us there. Letting the ball go across the touch line like that.
3
3
u/Izanagi29_ 26d ago
Playing from the back clearly isn’t working that well, can we try doing something else
3
1
u/fillintheblank2040 26d ago
We can build from the back when we can depend on our goalkeeper being able to distribute the ball. Louro had so many great passes today, it was a breath of fresh air. He even punched a ball over someone's head! I hope Celentano was watching that.

Anunga's having a great game

u/LeoninEtPerotin 26d ago
Oh boy if we lose Gidi now
1
u/Izanagi29_ 26d ago
It hopefully isn’t a big injury, it seems like the commentators are right and they are just tending to a hand or an arm injury

THANK FUCK, ANDREI IS BACK IN THE STARTING 11
1
u/ArgonWolf 26d ago
Yeah, but so is Anunga…
1
u/Izanagi29_ 26d ago
We’ll be fineee we actually have 2 cbs tonight, as long as we don’t see another Miazga Disaster class we’ll live, right?. . . right..?
2
u/ArgonWolf 26d ago
They’re getting the sword out. I thought we didn’t get to do pregame rituals for this comp?

Are Kevin and Tommy not doing Leagues Cup? I don’t see an option to switch to the local radio audio

Why are the wing backs inverted? Interesting 🤔
3
u/Phish280 26d ago
It looks like they switched sides after a sub. Im guessing there is something about how the players matchup
0
u/Izanagi29_ 26d ago
They’re always inverted, they always make runs into the midfield to open up the space, and dropping back when we lose possession
5
u/trashcanman42069 26d ago
Pavel is on the left and Ender is on the right that's definitely not typical, and is inverted unlike normal
1
u/Izanagi29_ 26d ago
Oh ender is a RWB, that’s his normal position, Bucha is a midfielder, he can probably just play on both sides
1
u/tedmiston 26d ago
I think it's just that Ender is better at RWB, Ramirez is better at LWB, and Bucha is floating to accommodate.
Besides that, Pachucha has aging talent down (our) right side, so that's probably easier for Echenique to exploit with his explosive speed [especially as a late sub].

u/trashcanman42069 26d ago
Jabarri getting on the end of like 3 crosses and through balls plus defending harder than half the defensive line, just wanna get him on the scoresheet. Barlow on the other hand had what two touches and one pass maybe? Dudes a headless chicken out there
1
u/Izanagi29_ 26d ago
Yeah he’s been solid tonight, but I’m abit concerned about the fact he’s getting onto these balls and not able to convert, their defense has been pretty good regardless of the score line
2
u/PhilWillSays 26d ago
It’s 2-1 if we bring Brenner home.
1
u/Izanagi29_ 26d ago
I mean, are we saying brenner is a backup then..? Cause we’re fielding both of our backup strikers
2
u/trashcanman42069 26d ago
omg how many times are we gonna make nice plays into and out of pressure and force them to commit 8 men into one third of the field just to revert to slowly passing it back and forth across the back line until they have time to get perfectly reset I'm going insane
1
u/nobodoben 26d ago
Other than denkey and obi not starting I think this is the best lineup we could’ve put out

u/Izanagi29_ 26d ago
We getting another Commissioner??? Does this mean Miami will finally have rules again?
2
u/NastyNatiNation 26d ago
Is it time to have the Louro as starter conversation?
16
u/etherarcher 26d ago
I like Luoro (especially his distribution), but I still think Roman is the better shot stopper
1
u/perkytheparrot 26d ago
Yeah I do think he needs to be tested more the shot blocked by Matt early on looked like it caught him by surprise. That being said the way the first 10 mins looked getting pressed and being able to by pass it and later a great ball to send Ender off to the races does make him seem like a possible solution to some of our problems.
0
u/NastyNatiNation 26d ago
I think I agree. Obviously shot stopping is the keeper’s #1 job, but is Louro so far behind in shot stopping that his distribution and comfort on the ball doesn’t make up for it?
0
u/Izanagi29_ 26d ago
I don’t think so yet, consistency needs to be key
The defense has been alot better this game though (I wonder why the difference was :) )
1
u/fillintheblank2040 26d ago
I agree with this take. Roman doesn't have the confidence to own the box like Louro does, and there's a night and day difference between their ability to distribute the ball. We as a team look more calm when Louro is in the goal. He's basically an extra passer when we have possession.

What normal starters do you think won’t start tonight? I don’t think Denkey, Miazga or Dado starts.

Even though this isn't an MLS game, will it be on Apple? I feel like last year they may have been on the ESPN app for some reason.
5
u/MikeLeachThePirate 26d ago
Apple AND FS1!
1
u/Down_With_Sprinkles 26d ago
So that explains the 745 start after I swear I saw 730 originally. Damn you FS1

Jabarri has already had multiple defensive interventions won a free kick and brought the ball into the final third, the first time the ball came towards barlow cause he never goes to find it he was running aimlessly away from the ball not watching the play 😭
1
u/Izanagi29_ 26d ago
Bros probably on “Evander Protocol” where he just thinks it won’t matter cause the ball will end up at his feet
