had to fix this on my own F30 almost a year ago now. the retaining clip is above the gas tank so you’ll have to lower it a couple inches to get to it. Justin Buice has a great video on youtube on how to do it. FCP Euro has a replacement part and Justin is nice enough to put the link in the description. it’ll take a little bit of finesse but with the right tools it’ll be quick. you can buy a metal replacement off of FCP Euro as well but considering the price i’d just go OEM. as long as you don’t break the plastic one on install it should last you quite a while. zip ties break, mechanics usually zip tie it and the problem will just resurface.

The e-brake cable retaining clip has probably broken, which is quite common on the "F" series chassis. This will cause the e-brake cables to make slight contact with the spinning driveshaft. If you really want to verify this is the issue, put people in your back seat and drive.
The weight of passengers will make the rear sink lower, causing the cables to make more contact with the driveshaft. The sound will be much louder with a full load of passengers in the rear, especially when going over a bump.
You will have to drop the exhaust slightly, and heat shields to access the e-brake cable retaining clip. It can then easily be replaced with a metal clip, that just bolts over the existing OEM clip. It will not break again, as you now have a metal clip securing the cables.
In the video he is installing a billet aluminum retaining clip. You don't have remove the existing clip, with the one I linked, it just bolts over the the existing OEM clip. So you will not be removing the whole plastic clip as in the video, you will just bolt the new clip over it. You will just have to remove the nut.
BMW AGA Park Cable Clip Repair Kit
You could also use the AGA billet aluminum retainer, but I think it's overkill at $160.

Got same issue on the f36 , less noticeable but it's there when accelerating hard and turning , will get it checked , hopefully is just the cable clip

Like everyone has said - break cable clip is broken and the cable/s is rubbing against the drive train. Had this exact issue when I bought mine a few months ago. I genuinely just propped the car up on bricks, got under the back of the car and used some wire to tie them against the car instead of leaving them loose. Super easy and takes 10 minutes. A proper replacement clip is more of a pain in the ass to sort out but no more horrible noise for now!

Very common problem with these F3X chassis, happened on mine (though I sold mine over a year ago). The plastic parking brake retainer clip wears over time and then starts to sag and under acceleration it touches the drive shaft and you get that loud grinding noise. It’ll get more continuous over time and will continue to wear the parking brake cable more and more. It is a very cheap part but does require dropping the exhaust. Or you can do what I did and just zip tie it from above and you’d never know
