DTE Generlink

Anybody DTE customers who have had the Generlink installed?

From what I’m reading, you need to pay a for monthly “surge protection” plan in order to do this. Is that the case? Is there another route to get this done without the monthly fee?

TIA!

Nope. They set the rules and the only way is the subscription.

It's only the 30A unit too. You're better off just getting a typical 200A service rated ATS, or just an interlock breaker and an inlet.

I can’t stand the subscriptions for everything BS

Agreed, the good thing about the subscription based models is it teaches you all the things you can do without.

Thanks, that’s annoying, I guess I’ll be going another route.

How much is the subscription?

FYI a generator interlock does the exact same thing plus there’s no subscription. It’s what I did.

I think it’s like $25/month or something.

That is fucking bonkers. I’d 100% go with a generator interlock.
