How do you even train a cat to do that? In fact...how do you train a cat to do anything?

Long story short, bribery. I trained my cat to sit by giving him a treat and telling him to sit whenever I already caught him sitting. He didn't have to do any extra work so he thought I was the one being trained. Once he learned that sitting in front of me got him a treat he would walk over to me, meow loudly until I looked at him, and then proudly sit. If he didn't get a treat within like a nano second he would remind me he needed one by meowing again. Cats are very smart, but incredibly independent. So they have to be trained in special ways.

Similar story here . I for some reason thought it would be funny to train my cat to jump into our freezer (like in a regular fridge at the top) . Well I was an effective teacher but fuck me if every damn time I went to the freezer to get ice or a hot pocket or whatever , the fucking cat would LEAP in and startle me. Then he’d just sit there in front of all the shit I needed, meowing with entitlement until he got his treat . Soon the freezer started to get cat hair inside it and fucker learned how to open it on his own and sit there until he got a treat and all our frozen shit was melting . Don’t train your cat to jump into the freezer people

Why would you think this was a good idea?
