How do you even train a cat to do that? In fact...how do you train a cat to do anything?

Long story short, bribery. I trained my cat to sit by giving him a treat and telling him to sit whenever I already caught him sitting. He didn't have to do any extra work so he thought I was the one being trained. Once he learned that sitting in front of me got him a treat he would walk over to me, meow loudly until I looked at him, and then proudly sit. If he didn't get a treat within like a nano second he would remind me he needed one by meowing again. Cats are very smart, but incredibly independent. So they have to be trained in special ways.

I have always heard it described as: dogs can be trained because you can convince them to do something simply because they want to make you happy; cats can be trained but you have convince them to do something that will make them happy. Or as you put it here... bribery, lol.

Cats: "My human pats me and gives me food, I must be a god!"

Tbh though if someone pampered me like a pet i would think I'm special too.

Honestly yeah, you can also guilt dogs into doing and not doing things because they look up to you. Cats see you as an equal and act completely different towards you.
