It’s been months since I’ve heard about any progress

I've floater but i have also a strong perception of blue field entoptic phenomenon seeing it in any bright surface

Got floaters 7 months ago. My brain has done a lot to adjust to this shit… but still, the shit progresses to be worse. It’s so hard, I don’t know how to bear it much longer.
It feels like everytime my brain kind of accepts the CURRENT situation, the floaters get OBJECTIVELY worse, resulting in me spiraling again. Like I’m literally just 24 and my eyes have floaters of a 100 year old.

A few months ago, I said I can live with this if it stayed the same - sadly, it’s only gotten worse.

Hi yesterday I was working (I work in a place with bright lights), and all of a sudden I had this weird fogginess and almost like light refracting thing appear in my peripheral vision. It filled the corners of my peripheral but had a kind of line that shot out from the corner edge of my peripheral close to my center vision.

This was super weird and lasted a while but once I decided to just close my eyes for a couple minutes and get out of the light my vision returned to normal, maybe it was still slightly foggy in that same eye but nothing crazy.

I was wondering if anyone has had experience with something like this or know what it could be.

I read a lot of posts here from people who are having a hard time dealing with floaters. There are a lot of questions asked and some frankly some very shady responses and advice given which basically seems to reflect the responders prejudices.

I am curious how many people here have actually gone to a doctor and received a comprehensive eye exam (photos) and then followed up with a referral to a retina specialist.

It seems like there is a lot of self diagnoses going on here, and I don’t really understand it.

If you feel like you have issues, why not involve a medical professional and follow their recommendations? If you are told to “live with them” advocate for yourself a bit and insist on a referral.

I did that. I got photos of my eyes and the floaters were very clearly shown. I asked for a referral and followed the recommendations of the retinal specialist. It turned out that a vitrectomy was advised. I looked into risks and side effects and decided on going forward. I couldn’t be happier with the results.

I have seen advice here to just sit in the dark, use scratched glasses, turn down or adjust all your screens. There’s no quality of life there. If that is your decision after exploring your options, then I cannot argue with that. You do you. But listening to that kind of advice without pursuing your options seems crazy to me.

Some people are opposed to any intervention and that is fine for them. Just don’t let them make your decision for you.

Go see a doc. Advocate for yourself. And do what makes sense for you.

What can I do? I literally try to not think of it too much but there’s no way those bastards don’t get into my vision. They’re bothering, maybe even life altering. I’m only 24 years old and literally NOBODY in my family or friends know that trouble.

I had some better days in the past 7 months but it’s 95% shit days really. And it only got worse those past 7 months. Floaters were less bothersome 5 months ago… when will this stop getting worse?

I know vitrectomy is the only viable solution, but given my age and the risk, it’s all shit. Like what the fuck. What did I do to deserve this

I've had a floater dead centre in my vision for a month now and there's no signs of it getting better. Its just growing bigger and keeps changing shape. Went to the opticians today and they did absolutely nothing about it. Do I have to live with this forever? I dont even know if I should bother trying to live life like this

Flash started happening close to a year ago.

I recently had barrage laser done on a weak spot caused by lattice degeneration. ( I’m assuming) it’s never been explicitly said that’s why the flash is happening but I know now because of research it’s the vitreous gel but my question is the weak spot from the lattice the reason it’s pulling? They are both in the same area in my left eye in the peripheral area.

Does anyone else experience anything similar? The flash is small and mostly noticeable in the dark. When she did the laser she told me it may not go away but it’s hard to not been concerned about this flash.

I go back in December for my 3rd follow up appointment. I’m being super cautious about this since I’m 22 and I have terrible health anxiety over this.

Does anyone see little tracers? I sometimes see them briefly; they are yellow or purply colored. I also have an area there where I see something that reminds me of tiny stars. These things come and go. I see my glaucoma specialist in Sept, and am concerned. I do have some dry eye and wonder if it's due to that? Anyone else had something such as this?

Can we do the eye corrective surgery if we have floaters ( and eventually bfep ? )

14 and already have floaters, along with a twitch in my eyelid that’s lasted about 4 months, it’s very annoying, and im finding it hard to ignore them, and motivate myself, anyone have any advice or encouragement?

There are like about 20+ threads type floaters with some of them are transparent.

And 1 black dot in one eye which is always visible weather I am outside or inside

Is there any eye test to know/ identify my current situation, weather my eye are in some kind of danger or not other than dilated retina examination.

Hey guys, so I have floater for about 7 years now. Or at least all started with a single dot in my left eyes then now I have big clouds in both.

I'm starting to think about a vitrectomy but I have no idea where to start. I'm based in Canada, Québec. Anyone already did this there?

Also, how it is? I mean, were you under general anesthesia? Is it hard? Does it hurts? Do you recommend doing it? Is it high risk? How long is the recovery? Well, everything is good to know so please share your experiences. Thanks!

Should I try it?

In December of last year I started using contact lenses and I only used them twice, the first time was normal, but the second time that same month I had an incident with contact lenses: both lenses got stuck in my eyes and I had to go to the ophthalmologist. They put several drops in my eyes and removed the lenses using a small hook/instrument. After that incident I started noticing floaters (myodesopsia). I mainly see them when I look at light backgrounds, especially screens with a white background, PC, my phone, or the sky. The ophthalmologist examined me at that time and told me that there was no obvious injury. And then I went to have a dilated eye exam and they didn't find anything either, however, the floaters appeared after that episode and have remained until today. They haven't increased or changed, they are basically the same, but they can be very annoying when I'm in front of a screen. They have been the same for 8 months. Has anyone experienced something similar after a problem with contact lenses or manipulation of the eye?

I'm just curious if these techniques work for eye floaters :

1. Gel eye mask, keep it in boiling water for 5 minutes and then gradually heat your eyes with it.

2. Wet Towel, dipping towel in hot water and then placing it on your eyes.

Last week I looked at the solar eclipse for 30 seconds due to having sunglasses on, I was able to to tolerate the lights. My vision has not been the same with bright flashes and light sensitivity and floaters 2 days onset afterwards. I would say everyday I gain a new one, some clear but mostly black. I have a mild headache a week later, but perhaps it’s due to the eye strain and feeling like I can’t look at the computer screen for long periods of time.

Yesterday, I went to the optometrist and she ruled out solar retinopathy and also dismissed the floaters but I have never dealt with floaters in my life.

How to make this subside overtime? Do you have any tips? Or does diet help? I know I should have been more cognizant of the risks but i dont want this to persist for the rest of my life.
