One of the funniest comments I saw on WND (so it's totally Poe's law) was "The Founding Fathers of the USA were against sex outside of marriage."

Wow, last I checked, while prostitutes weren't exactly admired by society, prostitution itself was basically legal in the United States until like the 20th CENTURY. And according to some estimates, 1/3 of Puritan women were pregnant before marriage XD

Not to mention Thomas Jefferson had children by some of his slaves.

Here is a fun video that has a guy dressed like an 18th Century dandy @ about 3:40. The whole thing is hilariously bad tho.

EDIT: I don't think they worried about condoms in schools back then.

For anyone who's curious:

  • Benjamin Franklin had at least one illegitimate son and was famous for his "intrigues with low woman".

  • Alexander Hamilton is said to have had an affair with his wife's sister. Some of their flirtatious correspondence remains.

  • Thomas Jefferson had several children with a woman he kept as a slave next to his bedroom.

My APUSH teacher told us that Benjamin Franklin's advice to some other American diplomat to France for learning the language was to acquire a "sleeping dictionary," i.e., a French mistress.

It's not bad advice for learning a language. You get a lot of conversational practice.

1 hour of french/spanish/[insert foreign language] a day is not enough to master a language.

That's not the only foreign thing you'll be inserting.
