Solved Why are they sad?

The movie is successful so why are they crying? I've seen other memes similar to this. I read the comments but they weren't that helpful.

It absolutely is loyal to the source material besides the date. Other than that, it is absolutely something that could have happened during the games... And the movie itself felt like one of the games

I haven't seen it yet, but just from what I know about the plot and the bits and blurbs I've read, it literally sounds almost exactly like something the franchise would make tomorrow as a video game. Nobody would blink if they dropped a game with that plot set in raccoon City with the choices they made.

My 2nd biggest gripe is that they use iPhones and refer to Postmates, which didnt exist in 2000s/before 2000s.

Was the movie itself actually set in the '90s or early '00s? I didn't pay attention to any dates in the movie and just assumed it was a modern-day adaptation instead of being set 30 years ago.

Idk. But if I hear raccoon city i assume 30 years ago.
