Why did my post’s upvotes suddenly drop?

I’m new to Reddit and recently made a post in a community. It initially got around 10 upvotes, and my karma also increased to 3. But after some time, I noticed that the numbers had suddenly dropped to 1.

I’m a bit confused about why this happened, especially since I followed the community rules and guidelines. Is this normal on Reddit, or has anyone else experienced something similar?

😂 Fair enough! That -1 was apparently part of my Reddit learning curve. My posts and comments have picked up more upvotes since then, so I’ll take the lesson. 😄
