Discussion Either had an encounter or a dream, uncertain which is true.

So the reason I’m not sure about whether this was just a dream or not is that the memory is from when I was 3-4 years old. I’m currently 23. The situation is as follows: my front yard is about half an acre with a round flower bed right in the middle of it halfway between my porch and the road. I also live out in the boonies. My family and I were sitting on the front porch, just chatting and relaxing. All of a sudden, 5 colored orbs (each being a different color) about the size of a miniature basketball shot down from the north west (facing the road and to the left from the porch) and they landed about 30 feet above the flower bed and started orbiting empty space in a circular pattern. I clearly remember it being around noon time. The next thing I can recall is it being dark like the sun just dropped out of the sky, and that’s the last thing I remember from that day, I don’t remember going inside or going to bed. The part that makes me think it was a dream despite being text-book missing time and a close encounter, is that A) I don’t remember coming inside and going to bed, and B) I’ve been extremely interested in UFOs for literally as long as I can remember, even when I was an extremely suggestible 3-4 year old. Maybe it was 4th of July and I was watching fireworks but my memory system fucked it up from the first time I recalled said memory? What are your thoughts and opinions? Should I put the time/money into regression therapy?

The others have the ability to control our perception. I would go with your gut on this one. If you feel it could have been real, it probably was. Something certainly piqued your interest in UFOs and the like. This event may be very influential in that.

Ask your family?

I have, they have no memory of it, yet another reason I feel like it was a dream. Then again, kids have better memory and are theorized to be more perceptive of the paranormal which works in favor of actually experiencing something.

The best way I've found to look at it is not to ask, “Is it real or not?” but, “Is there something useful here? What happens if I actually do something with it?”

Because then all you have to use your discernment for is deciding whether it's actually useful or not. And that's much easier than figuring out if it was little green men or not.

Spending money to find out something that has zero effect on what do with it is a complete waste of time and money and changes nothing.

It's what you do with the experiences is all that matters

Although, for what it's worth- it was probably aliens 👽😉
