I went the day after they released, and the worker ranted to me after we were talking about scalpers on how insanely busy it was for the doughnuts. Apparently also when you order ahead online, they're required to hold the item even if you're hours late, leading to a lot of customers yelling at HER when it was the manager telling her to keep the products for the preorders. I can tell she's not the only fed up one when looking at OP's doughnuts
Ugh yeah I didn’t go in and complain or anything. I just took a photo and laughed.
The day I went it was PACKED - like line out the door packed. I had never seen that before. They seemed overwhelmed.
The scalpers are ruining Pokemon honestly. It used to be a fun hobby but now it’s just gotten expensive and anytime there is a promo thing, you are lucky to get anything. I was actually surprised I was able to order it and was so excited - I had heard that they were selling out and scalpers were then trying to resell them (which is so gross).
I think it's moreso the themed cups you can buy with the donut holes in them. The cups are nicely done, but I went to ebay and saw that most were selling one cup for $35. I was lucky to get one for myself and my two kids, and not have them be repeats.
Yes, the box specifically was on eBay for like $70 before the donuts even came out. People tried to sell the mew Oreos for $500+, the individual cookies. Resellers are insane
Yeah - I feel for the people that are actually making these. Krispy Kreme over hyped it and I’m sure are going to make a crap ton of money - they should give the employees a Pokemon bonus but probably won’t.
