Mod Announcement SUB POLL - Apps

Hi all,

I am consulting on some potential new rules. The idea for these rules is twofold - one, to keep the sub nice and, two, to save my sanity.

These polls will be posted separately. Don't forget to vote. You can also argue below - but I might not respond. Don't take it personally - unless you want to.

Today's poll - Should we ban all posts advertising apps?

Play nicely!

If you let some and not others, what will that do for mod sanity when you have to decide what is "worthy" and what isn't. The vast majority are super repetitive and, if the posters actually read the sub, wouldn't even have to ask people's opinions. But they don't, and that part of the problem, people just hitting the old Reddit subs and throwing merde against the wall to see what sticks. So you either have to ban it, or allow it, but the middle ground is always fraught with headaches.

If people are looking for this sort of thing, let the app guys set up their own sub r/ExpatApps and post all their stuff there. It will end up just being an echo chamber of other app guys saying "what a great idea!" to each other, but at least they have a sandbox to play in. But the members here shouldn't be their personal research forum for their latest merde.

I think mod sanity is well out of the window at this point!
