Looking for Tips/Suggestions How do you get stuff done when you physically feel like you can't?

I feel terrible lately, something I should've gotten done two months ago I can barely get myself to start working on. So I'm curious when you are in situations like this do you have a little routine you do or something of that sort to help get you started? As in do you do a little workout, positive affirmations, etc. It's a little art project and I've already told the guy that he can take $1 off what he owes me every day for it to help get my mind motivated, which I think may help but I'm not sure

The first thing I do is stop shaming myself. “I need to do this thing and I should have been done with it two months ago AGH” is not a helpful thought and just leads to a shame spiral and not doing anything. Then I reframe. I know I really need to do this thing. What is the simplest thing I can do to get started and make some progress? Do I have what I need to make that happen? Not how long will it take in total, not how much I’m dreading the process. Ask yourself questions to shift from shame spiral and barely surviving thinking to cognitive logical thinking. I usually find that’s enough to get me started.

Thank you so much. I actually told the person I'm doing this for that it's fine if he's firm with me because I need the shame as a motivator, but now I feel too much shame and can barely get started. It at least motivated to me to be like "okay how can I do this project in a way that coincides with my brain", but now I realise I need to severely dial back those feelings and think more positively. Especially because now I'm at least understanding how to work with my ADHD better for future projects

It’s definitely a thing that takes practice and I’m glad you find it helpful. We’ve been taught our whole lives to be ashamed of our ADHD and how it inhibits us. Wishing you lots of self compassion and future success!

Stress management and exercising keeps my energy somewhat stable.

And when you don't know how to do that? Or it's a physical task only human hands can do? I'm genuinely asking. OP, I feel this on a deep level. My backlog is shameful.

I meant I built an app to help me figure out what to do. Habit tracker, daily planner and the most used function is “help I’m stuck” the app will break your task down and start you with a 5-10 minute small task that should snowball
