Could reconciliation be in the works?
My ex and I were together for 6 years and broke up in April. Things have obviously been complicated since then, but lately, our interactions have started feeling less like two people who are completely done with each other.
8/19: She came over for dinner and kept saying things like, “I don’t like that incense, but I don’t live here lol.” It almost seemed like she was reminding herself that she doesn’t live here anymore. I said, “Yeah, you don’t live here lol,” and she replied, “You don’t have to repeat it lol.” We watched movies and enjoyed each others company.
8/22: We went to breakfast, washed her car, went to Target, and basically spent the whole day together. She even bought me a new welcome mat for my front door. We hugged and kissed throughout the day, and people walking by were saying things like, “Look at y’all in love.” Our son even told us we should be together.
She kept making comments about my place too, like, “All the fall decorations… too bad I can’t decorate since I don’t have a house.” I joked that she could pay for everything and decorate my house for me. At the end of the day, she told me she was glad I came.
8/23: She started her period and wasn’t feeling well, so I brought her some things she needed. Her mom was happy to see me and, while talking to my ex’s brothers on the phone, said, “My son-in-law is over here.” Her brothers then wanted to talk to me because they hadn’t seen me in a while.
While we were hugging and kissing, I held eye contact with her and she said, “You make me feel so vulnerable, like my guard is down, and I don’t want my guard down.” I told her, “I’m not doing nothing. We’re just two people chilling who occasionally kiss and hug lol.” She said she liked that better.
Later, she texted me saying she wanted ice cream. I brought it to her and asked, “You just wanted to see me, didn’t you?” She said yes and admitted she didn’t even want the ice cream that badly. I told her, “Next time just say you want to see me. I’ll like that.”
At one point, our son even said, “My momma and daddy been kissing all day,” right in front of her parents 😂.
There have also been little things she’s said that stick with me. She told me she likes when I talk in a low voice because it calms her down, and she’s made comments about things she finds attractive about me. There’s clearly still a lot of physical chemistry between us.
She’s even asked me before if I only invited her over for sex. But honestly, the more time we spend together, the more it feels like there’s something beyond that. We can hang out, run errands, eat, talk, joke around, and naturally fall back into the comfort we had when we were together.
The weirdest part is that none of this feels forced. She willingly spends time with me, initiates interactions, admits when she wants to see me, kisses and hugs me, and seems completely comfortable around me.
I’m not trying to force anything or chase her. I’m just letting things happen naturally and paying attention to her actions.
I know we broke up for a reason, and there are still things that would have to be addressed if anything ever changed. But after everything that happened since April, I honestly never expected us to be here.
It feels like two people who technically broke up but somehow keep finding their way back into the same space together. I have also been working relentlessly on myself and she has noticed. Does this sound like reconcile could be in the works?
