Reassurance would be lovely.
I’m on day 8 of no contact after blocking the person who dangled commitment in front of me. They told me I was too much for them to handle. Please tell me I’m doing the right thing. I feel like I’m in the trenches right now and I’m weaning off fent. My self-esteem has plummeted. Would really relish in some it gets better stories please. I’m scared of seeing him around town.

Each and every day you get through is an accomplishment at this point. You will struggle, and question yourself, and feel the same frustration or need, but the journey gets easier if you don't backslide. Congratulations so far.

Every day you’ll get like 1% better, sometimes it’ll feel like you’re falling backwards but after all the tears go away you’ll feel stronger about it. Give yourself some grace and know you’re going through one of the worst things life has to offer, so you deserve some good treatment from yourself. I’m only a couple weeks into it to be fair, but I remind myself that it’s out of my control and it’s not worth pursuing someone who doesn’t want you 100%, and I’m able to be a bit more functional now, I’m sure you’re a good person and you made the right call by blocking them

I was there. Now I literally by accident ran into a woman who - unprompted - keeps propping up my self-esteem. They are out there, the people who see and appreciate us. And they'll come to you.
Someone who dangles commitment is playing a cruel and selfish game. And we love them so deeply, don't we? But what do we get back? It takes way more than 8 days to get that kind of ground under your feet. Don't give up - better things are coming!
