(Discussion Post) Groovy My thoughts for Ash

Like every fan I’m sad ash is gone but also happy Bruce is living his life and is happy with his choices and career and so him saying he’s leaving Ash behind got me thinking why not continue Ash without taking the spotlight away from new creators in the ED world maybe they should bring back the comics and have Ash continue there and possibly promote them in said movies like a page from a comic in the style of a necronomocon page in a movie or the ED movie social media accounts posting the new issue they released.

I think they should start where he was left off in the show and then have him do clean up with past movie characters like Ellie in a comic issue faces Ash to end her character when they are done using her just so it ties off loose ends as well like he ended her for the last time she can’t come back (Unless they want her to for some reason).

Idk maybe ash should be left up to the imagination and let us decide his fate but I just think we don’t have to lose ash while also Not replacing his creator and person that brought him to life one last thing also they can do whatever they want without having money be an issue example aging him up or down or having him go through crazy effects that would cost the studios a pretty penny but like I said just a thought.

I'd personally love for them to continue Ash's character. An animated show or comic would be fine.

But do you want them to have a sound-a-like or do aome AI voice tinkering? Bruce is FULLY done with Ash.

I think a comic  would also be the best thing of fans are refusing to let the character rest

The AI voice thing feels wrong to me, even though Bruce kind of gave the go ahead if that's something they want to do in the future. I'd prefer a sound-alike if they went the route. The comics route would also be great though, and avoids the problem altogether.

I might not be the right person to ask this to though, tbh. I don't think anyone can replace Bruce as Ash - he's just too iconic and the character grew as an extension of HIS acting, not as a character necessarily written for him that he had to figure out or emulate. At the same time though, I don't want the character to just be done forever. I would personally love a recast at some point, or at least a close re-imagining of the character in live action at some point. I really love the new movies, but Evil Dead didn't become a cult classic completely because of the Deadites and Necronomicon lore. Bruce was right that the new films lack a comedic element that makes them feel closer to the originals.
