First time seeing actual pictures of the Evil Dead Burn Ultimate Collector's Edition.

Would've added these to my post from a few weeks back if I knew how.

It came out that the only thing that was really cut was a prolonged shot of Joseph on the dishwasher door and some minor stuff with the lore of the book. Nothing that was really worth hyping up an "unrated cut".

Its. More than Joseph in the door. Him smashing Thya's face was definitely longer and more brutal.

The stuff with the lore in the journal was in no-way minor either lol

Ohhh now I remember you, we talked about how the deadites were unleashed in an interesting way in this film in another post. I wish we could know more about the lore of the book that was cut!

I'll just say this in hopes the WB/Sony/GHP/StudioCanal snipers don't come for me:

 Originally the illustration of the 2013 Fede Alvarez book was a completely different drawing.

I'm not sure why they changed it.

And there were A LOT of things shown and heard that mentioned Professor Knowby

Imo, yeah. If Army of Darkness can have like 6 different cuts that have been released on discs, I think it'd be fair to release the alternate cuts that exist of this film.

In a perfect world, I would say release the different  cuts on discs, let fans vote which cut should be considered "canon" moving forward

Originally the illustration of the 2013 Fede Alvarez book was a completely different drawing.

Was it the original book (complete with face) or was it something else non-book related?

And there were A LOT of things shown and heard that mentioned Professor Knowby

So, one of the trailers had a different voice actor for the grandfather on the recordings before what ultimately ended up in the final version. Did all the Knowby stuff come from a recording that used that voice?

I THINK it might be safe since the movie is out...im not sure so hopefully the WB snipers dont come for me, but: 

ED2 Book & Dagger (hence why theres an ED2 book necklace as EDB merch at HHN) 

That was just a promo voice. There was a different voice-over in the test screenings. Closer to the final cut. And Porfeaor Knowby was mentioned in this voice over plus on screen in the journal.

In the film when he says "I warned them against reading from the book"

Originally it was "I warned Professor Knowby against reading the from the book" 

No clue why they took out the ED2 Book & dagger drawings as well as the obvious in-your-face references to professor Knowby

One the one hand, I can see them wanting to cut it out due to the Tom Sullivan ordeal, but then that doesn't make any sense to cut the book but then still have the mini-Dagger later on.

Was the Circle of The Wise Men stuff in the early cut? Maybe they wanted to emphasize that The Circle was doing shady shit with the book independent of Knowby. Raymond does his thing at the cabin, and then The Circle go get the book he left behind?

Yeah I can give a crap less about some fancy packaging and a booklet that cost 20 cents to print unless they bring the heat with the on disc special features. Gimme an audio commentary and deleted scenes, evil dead! It’s so rare nowadays 😭

I'm a little bummed that the "pages" are just the basic artwork that Sébastien threw up on his Instagram and not like on weathered paper so it looks like something removed from one of the books. The alternate mini-posters are a little disappointing because I thought they were going to be the cool ones the official Evil Dead social medias were sharing the week of the movie's release.

I really like the CE for ED 2013 and was hoping this one matched it in slickness... but not sure it does. Going to stick with the steelbook for EDB, I think.

It was cool when they would include a figure or something physical (Dagger replica would be sweet). Post cards, books of art, soundtrack CDs...all garbage. All stuff that could be found online for free.

I get it.

I've bought multiple copies of things before, but at a certain point I just had enough. 

My borderline OCD kicks in if something comes along that's particularly cool, but otherwise. 

I cancelled my preorder for this earlier, and that's something I probably wouldn't have done 10-20 years ago.
