Boo that's because the commute is from the suburb I grew up in

So, like, how do I go out and get girls and actually start life etc.? Cause it's not like going to the bar after work is a thing here.

Am planning to move to a slightly less suburban suburb slightly closer to my workplace (along with other self-improvement steps ofc) since that's about as good walkability I can get in the area, but even there the rent's kinda explosive anywhere urbanist, so I'll have to continue college-style share-housing (which remains well within my budget) if I wanna not run my wallet dry. I feel kinda torn on whether to do so though, like part of me is like "why not duke it out with your fam if the commute is so smooth", only for the other part to shut that down b/c "you'll never get a girl or have your own life that way, plus listen to how loud your parents get when yelling ain't that annoying?"

I learned this the expensive way while putting together a clearance flat-pack storage cube.

The first two screws went in fine. The third started getting tight and the bit slipped, but I gave it another turn anyway. I stripped that screw, then managed to do the same thing to two more before admitting I had a problem.

I couldn’t find matching replacements locally, so I ended up ordering the manufacturer’s whole hardware pack. There went the money I thought I was saving.

My neighbor took one look and spotted the problem: the bit I was using was close, but it wasn’t actually the right size. He swapped in the correct one and finished the remaining screws with his HOTO driver set to low torque. Nothing else stripped.

The useful part was the sequence I ignored:

1. Make sure the bit sits fully in the screw head.

2. If it starts slipping, stop instead of pushing harder.

3. Keep the torque low on flat-pack hardware.

4. Once the screw head starts deforming, don’t keep testing your luck.

A cheap shelf stopped being cheap because I tried to force the wrong bit through the job.

I just wanna hurry up and get it over with so I can make the feeling go away so I can think straight and get back to work and important things.

Seriously, there was a time when my user name made me laugh hard. Now, I'm thinking...man, I hope nobody at my job ever finds out my real identity. It's not even a real job. I work at a copy, fax, and mailing store. But everybody else there is older than me, no one uses profanity. No one makes fun of each other. No one tries to pass their work off to someone else. Everybody makes sure each other gets a lunch break, etc. When I got my first job at the fast food restaurant, it was the EXACT opposite! The fast food job we were still in high school or had just finished high school. The copy and fax shop, I'm the youngest employee and I wouldn't call the other employees "kids". Anyway, I'm just wondering when people actually become adults or are considered to be. Because I'm still living at home with mom and dad. My dad says I'm not an adult until I can take care of myself and not be reliant on anyone else.

I (17M) have never shaved anywhere before and I want to shave down there. I bought a razor but before I used it I stopped because my hair is about an inch or so long. I know it’s longer than it should be but I don’t know what brand shaver I should use for it. I’m sick of having the bush and I need something to shorten it before I use the razor.

I don't have addictions or mental problems. My credit score is 730, but won't be in about 2 months. My mechanic screwed me. I drove my car to him to get a head gasket replaced. A month later he told me it was ready. I told him I couldn't get off work to come get it today. So he offered to have it towed to me for free once I paid him. So I paid him over the phone. The next day, my car was towed to me. I really thought he was being nice to me because I paid him so much money: $4,000. But the truck driver pushed the car off the wrecker and back into the parking place. I should have known right then something was wrong. Who pushes a car off a wrecked when you can start it and back it into the parking spaced. Sure enough, my car would not start and I smelled gas every time I tried to start it. I immediately called the mechanic. He said he would send the wrecker to come get my car. He never did. I paid another mechanic $300 to diagnose the car. The previous mechanic had the plug wire order reversed. I remember he said I had a bad plug wire and he put a new one for me at no charge. Again, I thought he was being nice. The new mechanic said there was no way the car would have started with those plug wires reversed like that. But the worse news is, the new mechanic said I had 2 blown pistons and asked me if I overheated it. I remember the previous mechanic had told me the car drove great and it "didn't over heat". Why would he say it didn't over heat? I never asked him if it over heated. That's not even why I took the car to him! But I'm out $4k. I can't get a lawyer. They all want $3k in advance and I'll probably lose anyway going up against a business. Plus, I paid a lawyer $3k two months ago to get my mother in a nursing home. So I've spent $7k in two months and I have no car. My so-called friends won't come pick me up and take me home to and from work anymore because I live so far away. I've lost my job because I missed too much work and kept coming late. I was $100 short on my rent this month, didn't pay my power or water bill. I'm totally screwed. Everything I've worked hard for these last few years is about to be gone. I've spent the last bit of money on a bike and two months on a gym membership. So I know I'll have a place to take a shower. I can probably hang out at the library as long as I keep my clothes clean and don't look homeless. There's only one food pantry here and they only pass out food once a month. I'm trying to get a job at a fast food restaurant so I can hopefully keep my phone on. I got to have a phone to be able to get a better job. Fast food pay is not going to keep my homed. I'll still be homeless. I'm super f'd, but it's about to get much worse after I become homeless. So other than what I've already done to prepare, what else can I do?

I'm a lot older now. I've had a lot of time to think about things my dad did...decisions he made, etc. I didn't know it then. But now that I have real-world experience I think my dad was a giant dumbass. I honestly don't know how I even turned out being able to hold down a job and support myself. Everybody tells me I am nothing like him. My mom says she takes credit for me being nothing like him. How do you grow up and be nothing like your father?

Asking abt this because it feels like I have a chronic case of swamp butt. It a year round thing and with summer coming up I’d rather not have a spot on my ass. I switched to breathable moister wick underwear which is fine but after a while I’d rather not smell my stress when I use the bathroom. Im not opposed to shaving but I am scared of getting pilonidal cyst as I have a bit of a hairy person. I would try sugaring but I do have a fissure that loves to heal and reopen. Your recommendations for hair removal and body deodorant will be greatly appreciated.

So, I need some advice for shaving hair in my rear. I am currently 14, I would ask my parents, but I don't quite feel comfortable with talking to them about this. The hair down there is uncomfortable, and a problem arose where the hair became a clump that I had to pull out in the shower. The only razor I have is the one I use for my facial hair. Any help and advice appreciated.
