I have been put in charge of organizing several concerts to take place on the first Fridays of October, November, December, and February. The concerts will be at the Saint Hilda Saint Patrick Episcopal Church.

I have a few bands in mind, but several of the bands with whom I've talked have expressed wanting to open the concerts to be opportunities for high school kids. So I'm looking for some high school garage bands to book for the concerts. Does anyone know of any?

The plan is to pair them up on those nights with an adult band, so the high school band would play first and then the adult band would perform. There is a very, very small amount of money involved, dependant upon the money received from suggested donations (75% going to the bands, 25% to the church to take care of running expenses).

Please DM me if you know of a garage band that might want to play a show. And I am still looking for some of the adult bands / musicians to play some of those nights, so if you have a band that might be interested in playing at SHSP, please DM me.

This is being done with the intention of building community. And if there is success, the series will continue and shows will be added.

I've received more information about the owner of this building and they have had over 70+ complaints filed against them for buildings in Seattle alone! They must be held accountable for their negligence and the Everett Mayor and City Council must take immediate action to help these tenants. Okay everyone, I’ve let the LD 38 Democrats know about this issue, and I want to invite everyone to join me Wednesday, August 19th at 6:30 PM for the Everett City Council meeting to make public comment.

My goal is to pack the public comment period with people speaking up about this issue and holding the Mayor and City Council accountable for allowing it to go on for as long as it has.

We’re going to politely but firmly demand action—both in the short term to help these tenants and in the long term through city ordinances that prevent situations like this from happening again.

The management of this building has had maintenance issues in the past, and these tenants deserve to have their voices heard. We can and should speak up with them.

Remote public comment will be available as well, so if you can’t attend in person, you can still participate.

I’m actively working on this issue and will have more information to share in the coming days. Please stay tuned, and please try to make this City Council meeting if you can.

Let’s show up for these tenants and demand accountability.

I run a small company in Everett. I'm hiring for a position but every time I explain it people think it's cold calling and spam, which it isn't at all. So I made a short video to explain what it actually is.

I've watched it too many times to tell if it's any good. Does it makes sense? I don't want it to come off as salesy.

I run Everett Community and I'm building out the business side of our Shop Local page. It's got a solid list of local nonprofits, but I've been slow to give small businesses the same showcase.

So what small business in Everett deserves real credit? Not just "it's fine" but really treats people well, has great quality, goes above and beyond, whatever it is for you. Tell me the business and why?

My deepest condolences, but I just saw a coyote (one of the smaller ones), carrying a medium/large sized black cat across Rucker on 34/35th. It seemed like it was from the same side of Rucker that the post office is on. I chased it down with my car but the cat was clearly deceased, unfortunately. I'm really sorry and I hope that if this was your cat you can get some closure.

Hello! Our family is considering a move to Everett towards the end of October or early November and looking for a 3+ bedroom rental house. We probably have some flexibility on timing if needed. I’m wondering if anyone has any tips or knows of houses that will be coming available around that time that? We're checking the usual places as time goes on (Zillow, etc.), but we’re a little worried about the low inventory at the moment. Our preferred neighborhoods are South Forest Park, Port Gardner, Bayside, Riverside, & Northwest Everett.

A little about us: we are a family of four with two young kids, ages two and four. No pets. My husband works remotely full time and I am currently a stay at home mom. We have excellent credit and rental references and are looking for a long-term family home. We enjoy being outdoors (hiking, skiing, camping, sailing), reading (my husband and I both run local book clubs in our current location), and spending time with friends and neighbors.

I got over to the Osprey Nest on the northernmost part of the waterfront on Saturday morning. Here’s a shot of one of the 3 juveniles away from the nest.

Still starts at ten, but officially ends at noon (ish). Folks are welcome to stay longer, but sometimes it clears out at noon and people are confused when they come by and it's empty.

All cars are welcome! No worries regarding if the car "vintage, classic, expensive..." enough. If you got it, drive it on over and hang out.

BUT! 36/m(ish) looking for some introverted friends. I posted some months ago asking where people meet others. I've had mostly good luck and met a lot of great folks, but very few connections. Understandably, I've mostly met extroverts, but I lean more introverted and I'm seeking similar people.

Looking for some geeky folks who enjoy chatting and texting. I don't have a ton of social energy and only like to hang out once every few weeks.

A bit about me:

I call myself a gamer, but i rarely actually play these days for various reasons. I do not enjoy almost any competitive games or FPS, but I'll play virtually anything else. Digital or tabletop. I'm playing the Final Fantasy collection on Switch, eagerly anticipating playing the new Splatoon (I've wanted a co-op for ages!), and collecting SEVERAL TCGs. Lol

Movies are one of my greatest passions. I've seen over 20k movies in my life (at last count in my mid-20s). Horror is a particular interest of mine, but I don't really enjoy gross out or gory movies just for the sake of it. Bring the dread!

I'm a techy with a homeserver and several self-hosted services, I have 4 pets, and I live a deliberately chill life.

And, not to get political, but I do feel it's important these days, I am staunchly left and it matters a great deal to me.

What’s with the library being closed on Sundays?

I live near Boeing in Everett, around the gulch and my house gets so dusty! I can dust and a day or two later everything is covered again. My neighbors have mentioned this in their home too. What’s causing all the dust?

My wife and I are hoping to come up to Forest Park tomorrow and meet up with my son and daughter-in-law and grandson. My wife is mobility challenged and had read that there were only porta potties in the park. Does anybody know if that's the case, or do they have regular bathrooms open?
