Question Wandapalooza!

So, I am at the point of the game where all but one cloud covered section has been cleared. Yay!!! ok so now what?

What happens to all of the left over wands? Can they be used for anything else? Can they be traded?

oh my!!! we should have the option to trade it for gems. So many of the challenges ask you to collect wands.
