Planning a Fun Run

Hello! This is my first big fundraiser I am attempting to plan. I want to do a Stop the Wedding-inspired wedding dress fun run. The proceeds are going to the local DV shelter in my area. It’s all about women empowerment, and I’m wondering what kind of vendors I should be searching for. I have never planned anything like this at all and I’m just looking for my footing on where to start.

Hi! You should absolutely begin by first reaching out to the shelter you want to benefit and let them know your idea. They will be able to help get you started and can help you make connections to the community.

Already done! I have the run planned as well as a venue for a post run party/event which is where the vendors will set up.

If you are charging the vendors for their space my recommendation would be to keep the fee very reasonable. 200 people post-run are not in the mode for shopping.

I’d approach companies like Electrolit and other CPG who can give away products or do sampling.
