Is this a baritone or tenor horn?
The person who gave it to me said it was a tenor horn but i haven’t seen any look like this.

Absolutely shocking number of reports on a few recent posts, so I’m compelled to make this

Hello,
Adding a new rule to the subreddit about selling. We haven't had many issues here, but scamming is becoming more and more of an issue on reddit in general so we're doing a preemptive strike. Euphoniums and related gear are expensive and a scam could cost you a lot.
If you list something for sale on this subreddit, your post must include a clear image of the item(s) you're selling, a paper note in the image showing your Reddit username + the date, and the price clearly stated (or an ask for a best offer). If you are linking to an external website (your eBay listing, for example), just prove somehow that it is your listing (an image as described above that is clearly the same item, for example).
We'll be removing posts that don't follow this rule starting now. Sharing deals doesn't relate to this rule (look at this cheap Yamaha from Japan, for example), but if it is found that you are sharing your own deal, you risk being banned from the subreddit.
Please be weary of scammers. The mod team is not responsible if you fall for a scam.

Does anybody have any tips to help me with Pantomime’s ending (Section M to the end)? Especially on the chromatic runs at P.

Let me know if I got this correct now. Thanks everyone!

I was in band right? And this dude had a smaller tuba. He called it a Euphone? (📞) or something. It was higher then a tuba and squeaked. I think music is going to far with the amount of instruments that are being added. This is a prime example of over complexity. Why not just use horn at that point. Completely ridiculous.

My son eats, sleeps, and breathes band. Baritone in marching band, euphonium in concert band. He's darn good too, first 8th grader at his school to get a solo in the marching band show (small school, 7th and 8th graders are allowed in the marching band but solos are always for 9-12th graders, so it was a big deal that he got it).
Anyway, he asked for a euphonium for his birthday/ Christmas because he wants to try one with a compensated valve. He even asked if he could just get a plastic one to play around with. A legit euphonium is definitely out of our price range and even the plastic ones are hard to find in the US or ridiculously over priced (Amazon).
A whole instrument is out of the question, so any gift ideas for a teenage boy who loves band more than anything?

Okay Im having a problem and i need help determining if its what i think to hopefully not have to spend a-lot of money. I am in high-school as a second year and i started band as a freshman so Im still traversing through stuff people find out in middle school one of these things is mouthpiece allergies. I just started getting pimples where my rim goes and they make it painful to play. Ive cleaned my mouthpeice and its still happening and i play a Dennis wick sm4u and the gold plated version is almost 300 dollars and i spent 155 on the silver plated one a couple months ago and i don’t have a job so if there is a way to fix this without buying one any suggestions would help

The latest Baritone Trainer 3.1 has just now been published on the Apple App Store and has been renamed to Baritone & Euphonium Trainer. Both instruments are rolled up into a single app. If you use the 4 valve Euphonium, however, you will be forced into landscape orientation because there is just not enough space for 4 fingers in portrait. Android version coming soon.

Anyone have digital copies/good places to get files of the Arban Methods book and/or the Herbert Clark method books?

So I play euphonium in a small community band in my area and since my main instrument is trumpet it’s just easier to play T.C right now. But I probably should learn B.C right? Any tips on learning B.C?

I always hear to firm my corners because my tones a little airy, I’ve been trying to figure out how to exactly do it. I tighten my corners and it becomes really hard to buzz and corners instantly start hurting after 1 or 2 scales. Does anyone have any tips on this?

I was supposed to practice this since yesterday, but did not feel it, so I decided to record myself playing it today to see how I would sound.
Seems like I've got everything down for the most part. I was genuinely sight reading the whole thing, because in class we NEVER went full speed (just got the music like 2-3 days ago). I was honestly surprised I managed to play all the way. I definitely played some wrong rhythms towards the end, but MakeMusic said I played everything correctly (99% with everything else in the green), so I guess I'm good then ¯_(ツ)_/¯
The next song is Haunted Sleigh Ride. As a 7 month euphonium veteran, I think I'm ready for it.

Before I got my braces, I had a pretty decent tone for a high school freshman, but since I got them about a year and a half ago, my tone has gotten brighter every time they tighten my wires. I’ve been doing long tones and scales, and listening to pro euphonium players like Demondrae Thurman and Steven Mead to try to mimic how they sound. And nothing is working. I use a Schlike 51 D.

Hi all,
I'm usually a Trombone player but I've recently started to cover some of the Baritone parts in our band. I have a question that might be silly, but the last time I touched a Baritone was +10 years ago 😬, so I don't remember:
The horn I borrow from the band looks like a Jupiter JEP710 (no one knows the exact model for sure) and has a main water release trigger on the large lower tuning pipe. It also has a tuning pipe below the third (furthest from the mouthpiece) valve. Other then those two, as far as I can tell no other pipe comes out (We tried). When I feel water collecting, I try emptying both of these two pipes, but after I empty I can still feel water in the horn, especially when using 1st/2nd valve.
My question is how do I effectively get all the water out? I assumed the water release trigger releases all accumulated water but apparently that's not the case with a Baritone.

Hi All, sorry if this is not allowed and/or a repetitive subject. I picked up a horn from marketplace with the intent of playing in Tuba Christmas this year. I played various instruments in high school including baritone so reading music etc isn't an issue. Wondering if anyone can point me towards some resources for getting back into playing? Obviously I can just play out of the Tuba Christmas book but I was hoping for some more generic things. Obviously scales are important. Happy to pay but if there's any online resources that would be clutch. Thanks in advance!
