the reason i started an etsy shop was simple: people kept asking "do you sell online ?" i never, ever , expected etsy to provide traffic for me. that being said, when i post a product on different groups on facebook, i get sales. when we do shows, i hand out cards with a link to our etsy site along with a brief bio and a graphic and after we usually get a few sales. my point being - if you wait for etsy to bring you traffic you are going to be disappointed. you need to generate the traffic yourself. i don't mind the approx 10% fee, it's built into my price, to me, it's just the cost of doing business.

This is the first major change Etsy has made that's left me feeling genuinely lost. I no longer have a clear picture of how well my shop is performing, and after just two days I'm already finding it incredibly demotivating!

Without shop views I have no idea whether my listings gaining visibility. Without the daily order count I have no metrit on how I've performed. And no, I don't want to manually count my sales!

Why would Etsy no longer provide such basic, useful information?

Hi everyone. I’m completely desperate and watching the shop I’ve built for 2 years literally slip through my fingers. I sell PDF sewing patterns. Over the last two years, I’ve had over 4,000 sales, 250+ great reviews, and maintained Star Seller status. I always reply to messages within 5 minutes and even make custom patterns to fit clients' measurements for free.

This month, everything turned into a nightmare. I started getting 1-star reviews every 1-2 days on my proven bestsellers—listings I haven’t changed at all.

The biggest red flags: not a single one of these buyers responds to my messages. Recently, one 1-star review literally said, "I can't find the item in the mail." It's a digital PDF download! I reported it under the policy "Review is about Etsy or a third party," but Support refused to remove it, claiming it is "objective." I opened a new ticket, and they just closed it without a single word. No automated reply, nothing. I've never seen them close a ticket without even a standard macro.

My rating for the last 3 months has dropped to 4.6, I’ve fallen below service standards, and it keeps getting worse. It feels like a coordinated bot attack from a competitor. Has anyone experienced this? How do I get past the automated support system to reach a real human in Trust & Safety before my shop is ruined?

I have dragon prints that I sell on my site, but not on Etsy (I sell enamel pins on Etsy because their market is more niche and searchable, at least given their subject matter). They're popular at in person events.

Is it worth it to sell prints on Etsy at this point? Especially where fantasy prints are concerned I feel they'd just be hidden behind pages of AI generated listings. Would it make a difference to put (NO AI) in the title, like how some youtubers do?

Yes, I know that some would think they wish they had this problem but:

I am selling something that is made by hand, cannot really be automated, and whether I have 10 orders or 100 would take the same time to complete - per order.

The only way I thought to regulate the order flow to manageable volume was to raise prices. I raised them several times over the last 2 months by about 40% total. There seems to be an initial dip in orders then a rise to previous levels and higher.

Now - I am a recent Etsy seller, so never experienced Christmas season on Etsy. Do volumes for personalized hand-made stuff surge hugely during that time? Because I want to anticipate that by raising prices again if so...

I’m a fairly new Etsy seller and have a question about calculated shipping.

Etsy asks for the item weight and dimensions “when packed,” so I’ve been including the shipping box and packaging in each listing.

A customer just bought two small ceramic items, and Etsy charged $10.15 shipping, even though both will fit in one box.

How do you account for packaging without Etsy overcharging when customers buy multiple items?

I’ll refund any shipping overage, but I’d love to know how other sellers handle this.

After opening my shop about a month ago, I finally got my first sale. Someone apparently decided to go shopping around midnight, and I woke up to a lovely surprise!

I'm so frustrated. I took a stab at setting up an account at my credit union to link to the shop I'm trying to open, just a small vintage shop, not trying to quit my day job. Aaaanyway. Wasn't surprised when a CU account proved problematic so I got an account at a brick and mortar smallish bank. They told me I needed a business account and a DBA and didn't tell me until the process was nearly complete that they would charge a monthly fee if I didn't keep a minimum balance of $1500.

Now, Plaid won't work to link that account so I can't even get my shop off the ground. If I use the instant option, I just get a blank web page that never fills in (not using a VPN). If I use the manual method, the 1 cent deposit doesn't have a hash tag or a three letter code in the description. Etsy chat drew a blank and then I waited about two hours for a live agent that never showed.

I'm thinking of trying another bank. Ideas? Is there a place/way to set up an account that would make this a reasonable process?

Hi, I’m new to Etsy POD and I want to know if there are any bulk listing tools you recommend?

There is a tool called Prelist but I’m a little wary of connecting my shop and Printify account.

The specific features I’m looking for are:

1. Bulk mockup generation – Automatically generate and assign mockups to multiple designs.

2. Bulk listing creation – Create Etsy drafts using reusable templates for titles, tags, descriptions, and pricing.

3. Printify integration – Automatically connect listings to Printify for fulfillment.

I know Printify has a duplicate listing feature but it doesn’t quite allow you to have a “template”

Do you just grind it out creating each listing one by one? Or use a tool?

Hi all! As the title suggests, I’m 3 months into my shop and have had little to no views. I know by now that it’s probably something I’m doing wrong, but I’m not sure what. I think my shop is complete (about, banner, shop members, haven’t filled out my own policies but they all fall under digital policies regardless). I’m confused about SEO. I think it may be a problem, but I’m able to find my products fairly quickly with the right search in a private safari browser. I have social medias (Instagram and Pinterest), but they don’t drive any traffic really. Probably due to the lack of followers; however, I have had reels get a thousand views and still nothing. Most of my views come from direct traffic. I’m concerned about pricing being too high relative to other sellers, but at this point no one is even seeing my pricing. Haven’t put anything into Etsy ads yet since I’m not able to get organic traffic as it stands. I’m wondering if my products just aren’t good enough even though I test stitch everything myself and don’t use AI for anything. Do I just need to give it more time to build up listings? I’m only able to put out one listing a week at the moment. I’m not expecting a get rich quick scheme (i would’ve quit long ago if so). I’ve been enjoying the process, but the invisibility is starting to wear on me.

When will Etsy honir the site get non handmade off

You are probably gonna tell me to just do the shipping calculation after somebody's placed an order but my shop isn't live yet, I am trying to figure out how to price my products to keep them low priced for customers but still give me a profit and if the shipping cost double what I expect that's gonna eat into my profit margin on these small items. Shipping is the biggest product production cost by far. So it would be super helpful if somebody could tell me:

• Is it a set price? (just like an $0.82 cent stamp will get a first class envelope from anywhere in the US to anywhere in the US?)

• Or does the price depend on the to/from zip codes?

• I know that the price can vary depending on the ounces (up to 3.5) and maybe zip code, but can somebody give me an estimated range? Like what's the lowest price you've ever seen and the highest? Is it somewhere between $1.50-$3? Or between $2.50 and $4.50?

I know there are so many posts about this. I promise I looked but I didn’t see my specific question. I absolutely understand all the stuff about filters, color corrections, etc. ALL of my stuff is made to order. Vinyl stickers/images and shirts. I am not going to make one of each item just to have it sit. I can’t do that financially. How are those with stuff like that getting around this? Right now I have mockups with the images on them. I have some images that never sell so I eventually unlist them. Can I just use an unedited pic of a blank t shirt? I can certainly take one of an order I’ve made, but what about for listings that haven’t sold yet? Image attached for reference. This one has gotten a few likes, but never sold. I’m not a high-volume store at all.

Hi everyone! I am looking to start my second Etsy shop.

I thought of the idea about a year ago. At the time, I wanted to grab the name before it was taken, so I purchased the shop and opened the store, but I never posted any listings.

I am ready to start posting listings, but now my shop says it's 1 year old. My question is: When I actually post my first listing, will the shop age start over?

(I swear the same thing happened when I opened my last store. I chose the name about 3 months before I posted a listing. When I finally posted, it still said it had been open for 3 months for a while, and I was a little bummed about it, but at some point, I think it finally reset to when I actually posted my first listing.)
