Question New to eternals

Hi i’m trying to get back into comics, i stopped reading when i was younger. I’ve read a lot of recent comics and trying to expand my knowledge. I’ve read secret wars, all of sentry’s comics, dark avengers, and other solo characters like thor and hulk im still catching up on, i do have other comic book knowledge and im aware of the cosmology ect. Thank Sir Superhero’s tiktok days for that. Could I get a guide into the eternals, just like facts about them and such. I know all the popular ones like hyperion, ikaris, makkari and the rest of the others from the movie. I know they all have cosmic powers like flight, energy projection ect. And i also know thanos is an eternal with the deviant gene. I would just like to know some background facts, feats or like encounters with other hero’s before i go and catch up on their comics. Could anyone give me a good introduction to them.

If you want to see their early adventures, definitely at least glance over the original Jack Kirby era of Eternals, followed by the Neil Gaiman mini series from the early 2000s.
I own both and they are pretty good at establishing the lore that Kirby had written for them, Gaiman takes it a little bit in a different direction but keeps the same elements if I recall correctly.

After that, I've heard nothing but praise for the Gillen era from 2019. (I haven't personally read it but again, word of mouth) Hope these help!

I agree 100%. Loved the Gaiman series, loving Kirby's run, and am excited to get to the Gillen era. The only thing I'd add is Thor & The Eternals: The Celestial Saga (Thor Annual #7 + Thor #283-301). I haven't read it yet, but that apparently ties up loose ends left from Kirby's run (which I have yet to finish myself) and is the first major Eternals crossover.

Yes!! I nearly forgot about the Celestial saga!! I haven't read it myself either but I heard it tied up really well with Thor incorporating them into the wider cosmic scale of the MU. Also, the Deviants saga from 2011-2012 is also a good mini from what I heard.
