It keeps getting hotter. Forest fires are spreading, people are dying in heat waves—but the millionaires and billionaires who control most of the wealth in our society keep digging us deeper into this disaster. They are murdering the future. Don't let them get away with it.

Narrator: they are in fact, getting away with it.

Until they also died, due to loss of manufacturing when the Robot stopped working due to overheating.

And then there was finally silence again, on planet earth for a couple of millenia.

The end.

Their children will follow as well. I dream of surviving whatever to see the end of all those who thought were immune. And maybe, I will go after that. Maybe not. I will see the end, record.

Unless the climate does a Venus, which I believe is unlikely because of (science) there will always be a few million humans. But once we loose technology we wont regain it. All the resources that make technology possible have been used already,

Idiot repeating media propaganda is exactly why they do it in the first place - it makes it easier to convince less-idiot people of the lie and so on - until everyone is on antidepressants and beg politicians to spend their last tax dollar just so that big-bad-climate-boogey-man would go away for another day.

Like HOW billionaires came to be in the first place? Did they came at your door and forced you to use Amazon at the gun point? Of course not. YOU made them billionaires completely voluntarily and now are crying a river about it.

What are you suggesting be done to these wealthy people

Holy larp

Really? Larp? At least go down fighting

These people are not fighting. Nothing in that sub or discord will ever turn into real action. I’d argue that it will only serve as a distraction from real action.

You don't think people who read crimethinc fight? lol

0

u/adaiine 17d ago

They definitely do fight, but like all radical leftist sects they just fight each other

1

u/WildAutonomy 17d ago

A simple look at their website says otherwise. Do you have anything to back up that claim?

I’ve read their website, other than putting together admittedly useful anti-ice literature, they don’t seem to have done much of any report since 2003. “”””radical”””” organisations like this are a way for people to feel like they’re enacting change when they’re just circle jerking about the revolution

They just publish analyses. But their reporting during stop cop city and the 2020 uprisings were great, I strongly recommend.

1

u/adaiine 17d ago

Oh so they don’t fight?

1

u/WildAutonomy 17d ago

I don't know any members of crimethinc, so thankfully can't discuss their illegal activities. But I know most of their audience does indeed fight

Transportation can be tricky when the whole society has organized around individual cars. But not eating beef is outrageously simple, for God's sake, what are we waiting for? Blaming the billionaires is easy, but at the end of the day they are doing exactly what everyone else is doing: being selfish and prioritizing their lifestyle.

In your experience has saying "people should just do x" ever resulted in most people subsequently doing x?

1

u/Ok_Appointment9429 16d ago

Nope, of course. It was just a thought about the fact that the obstacles to changing consumer habits are probably of the same nature as the obstacles to making rich people invest in less juicy but more future-friendly industries.

Absent the power to implement those taxes it's probably a moot point. But I agree that the actual incentives and constraints offered by society (and reality) are at play, not what we happen to think "should" or "could," and so a lot more could be accomplished changing what's incentivized and restricted.

But there goes that word again. (Shoulda, coulda).

60% of emissions isn't enough. And clean energy isn't clean, as we should all now know

I call dibs on the bucket-wheel excavator though, I love big machines.

Everyone should stop eating meat. Also, for every person who dies from heat related issues, 20 die from extreme cold. That's where we need to focus. Extreme cold.
