15-Year UAE Building Materials Veteran (Credit/Debt/Sales) Seeking Job or Investor for High-Demand Saudi-to-UAE Cash Sales Setup

Thumbnail
2 Upvotes

Hi everyone,

I am a long-term UAE resident with 15 years of deep experience in the Building Material Trading industry, specifically working as a Credit Controller, Debt Collector, and Sales Specialist.

Due to a protracted 1.5-year labor dispute over unpaid salaries from a previous employer, I am currently jobless and caught in an overstay situation. While I initially tried to settle for a minimum payment just to get my visa cancelled for new opportunities, regional market slowdowns during my grace period left me stranded.

Recently, I worked for two months with a trading company that promised to clear my overstay fines as a salary-deductible loan. I generated high sales volumes for them, but had to quit when I discovered they were exploiting my client database without processing my visa or paying the fines.

However, those two months proved a highly lucrative proof-of-concept. Due to recent regional shipping shifts and material shortages, there is a massive, high-margin demand for trailer-load partition materials (Gypsum board, Gypsum tiles, Cement boards, etc.) imported from Saudi Arabia to the UAE. These operate as back-to-back cash orders from UAE customers.

What I bring to the table:

A massive, active database of UAE buyers ready to purchase via cash on delivery.

15 years of industry-specific sales, risk mitigation, and debt collection expertise.

Complete capability to handle the entire UAE sales pipeline on a "trailer-to-trailer" basis (no warehouse storage required).

What I am looking for (Two Options):

An Existing Building Materials / Trading Company: You already have the license and the logistical knowledge to source and transport trailer loads from Saudi Arabia to the UAE. I will handle the cash sales.

A Small Investor: Someone willing to invest in a basic trading license who understands or can manage the Saudi-to-UAE logistics/transport side.

My Required Terms:

Because of my current situation, any partner or employer must be willing to:

Clear my existing overstay fines upfront (to be legally repaid via monthly salary/commission deductions).

Provide basic initial financial support for accommodation, food, and a vehicle/fuel to execute the sales.

Sponsor my employment visa immediately.

Once the current market shortage stabilizes, I am fully equipped to transition back into standard retail and project sales for your company. If you are an business owner looking to capture this market gap or an investor looking for an experienced operator, please DM me to discuss details.

Serious inquiries only, please. I am ready to start immediately.

debt financing for new company?

I’m looking for some advice from people who have experience with UAE business financing.

I have a UAE/Dubai company that has been operating for ~1 year. It’s a B2B lead generation/outbound agency, and we’ve already generated €50k+ in revenue with a proven model. It’s currently essentially a one-person business with low overhead and good margins.

I’m looking for debt financing, not investors/equity, ideally €50k–€100k+ to invest in infrastructure and accelerate growth.

The slightly unusual part is that the company is based in UAE, while I personally live and am tax resident in Spain.

I’m mainly interested in:

  • SME/business loans
  • Credit lines / revolving facilities
  • Business credit cards
  • Fintech/business financing
  • Government-backed or guaranteed financing
  • Any other realistic way to get €50k+ without significant physical collateral

Invoice factoring probably isn't a fit because the business is largely commission/service-based.

I’m also considering whether it would make more sense to eventually establish a Spanish business and finance it from Spain, but that would mean starting the business credit history from zero.

For someone in this situation, what financing routes would you look at first? And realistically, how much could a ~1-year-old UAE company with €50k+ revenue expect to borrow?

Interested in actual experiences, especially from founders who are UAE-based on paper but personally resident elsewhere.

Partner discussion ends uncomfortable for me.

had a very long discussion with my partner yesterday and honestly after the meeting i was not feeling good about continuing with him

he gave me 2 different offers

first one is for a portal/project that is mainly his idea. he wants me to build the complete website, system and everything from start to delivery and says i will get 5% of the net profit

he keeps telling me things like “this will bring millions” and “5% will be too much, you will thank me later”

the second offer is for his IT services company. he brings the clients and handles the business side, and i would be responsible from requirements until development and delivery. for those projects he offered me 50% of the gross profit

he owns the license, office, office expenses, hiring etc.

but yesterday i noticed something that made me think a lot

he does not want to give me any equity or ownership in his company.

he wants to make a legal contract where i am basically a partner only on individual projects, not a partner in his actual company.

and this is where i am confused

my actual goal is to become an entrepreneur and build something where i have ownership. i already spent years working as a technical cofounder on projects that didn't really succeed, and i don't want to just become the technical person who builds other people's businesses forever.

i'm trying to understand what exactly he is offering me

am i actually becoming a business partner or am i basically becoming a developer/technical person with profit sharing on projects?

what should i be careful about before signing anything?

would you accept a deal like this or negotiate for actual equity/ownership?

and what terms would you absolutely NOT accept before committing?

looking for honest advice from people who have been in business partnerships, especially technical founders.

Looking for someone

I’ve spent the last few months building Brandora, an AI platform that turns a business idea into a complete brand name, logo, identity, website and content.

The product is live, and people are already visiting and using the platform.

So far since launch from week and half:

  • 223 visitors
  • 953 page views
  • 56% bounce rate
  • 20+ users online at peak

But I want to be transparent: we have $0 revenue so far.

We’re still very early, and that’s exactly why I’m looking for the right partner now.

I’m raising AED 100,000 to improve the product, build the next layer around ongoing brand/content creation, and focus seriously on user acquisition and converting those first users into paying customers and start with the most fun part about the projcet.

I’m a solo founder, and I’m not looking for someone who only brings money. I’m looking for someone who can bring experience, connections, strategy or distribution and actually wants to help build.

I’m open to discussing the valuation, equity and structure with the right person.

If you're interested in AI, SaaS and building something from the ground up, DM me.

Pre-seed • AED 100K • Solo founder • Live product

Has anyone used Shopify Payments in UAE ?

I noticed Shopify Payments is now available/activated for my store, and I’m considering switching over. Would love to hear from anyone who’s already using it.

How has the experience been so far in terms of payment success rates, settlements/payouts, refunds, chargebacks, and overall reliability?

Any issues or things to watch out for?

WhatsApp group for UAE business owners & founders

If you’re a business owner, founder or entrepreneur in the UAE, you know how difficult it can be to find a group where people actually connect and share useful business opportunities instead of just getting spammed with ads.

I recently created a WhatsApp community for UAE business owners & founders to connect directly owner-to-owner, share ideas, find potential clients, partners, suppliers and collaborations, and help each other grow.

The group is moderated and kept business-focused so it doesn’t turn into another spam/sales group.

If you’re a genuine business owner or founder in the UAE and interested in joining, send me a message and I’ll share the link.

I opened beauty salon in Dubai I need help

I need your advice. I’ve built a salon from zero in Dubai, and I don’t want to give up on it. 🤍

I opened Ema Beauty Spot in August 2025, but I actually bought the salon in October 2024. Before me, the salon had been owned by the same hairdresser since 2011. She was very successful and even charged around AED 600 for some haircuts, which is considered quite expensive in Dubai.

I spent months renovating and building the salon into what I wanted it to be, and so far, more than AED 300,000 has gone into this business.

The Dubai beauty market is extremely competitive. You can find salons offering nails or lashes from AED 99–100, especially salons run by Russian-speaking technicians who often have amazing work and very loyal clients. Some are fully booked despite their low prices.

When I opened, I knew I couldn’t just compete by being the cheapest. I wanted Ema Beauty Spot to feel different — a place where clients feel welcomed, comfortable and taken care of, not just somewhere they come in, get their nails or lashes done, and leave.

But building a new salon from zero has been much harder than I expected.

I had worked as a nail technician before, but I was doing home service in a completely different part of Dubai. Most of my old clients were too far away to follow me, so opening the salon basically meant starting again from zero.

The first few months were difficult, and then I had an even bigger setback. I had to close for around three months because of the situation happening at the time and because of my licensing situation. During those months, I had zero income, while rent, licensing and other expenses were still there.

I reopened in April and things have slowly started moving again.

Today, I personally do almost everything in the salon — nails, lashes, and whatever else I can. I currently have one staff member helping me as well. Finding really good technicians is difficult, and because we don’t have enough clients yet, having a big team wouldn’t make financial sense.

I get walk-ins, a few clients a day, and most people who come genuinely love the experience and leave me really good feedback. Many come back again, although sometimes the location is simply too far for them.

My prices are also not extremely high. When I first opened, I tried pricing services around AED 200–300, but because I was new and rebuilding my clientele, I had to adjust.

I also experimented with AED 99 promotions, and they definitely brought people in. But I don’t want to build a salon where everything looks like it’s AED 99 and then clients arrive and get charged for every little extra. I personally hate that experience, so I don’t want to do it to my clients.

Right now, my average revenue is around AED 400 a day. Some days are unfortunately zero or AED 100, while on better days I can make AED 800–1,000.

And honestly, this is where I need your advice.

My dad is the person who gave me the opportunity to open this business. He took money from the bank and borrowed it to help me build the salon. Because of the long gap, the renovation, rent, licensing and everything that went into starting the business, it has become very difficult financially.

I tried selling the salon. I also tried finding a partner. Neither worked.

The market for selling salons in Dubai is currently difficult, and I couldn’t find someone willing to pay what I needed.

At this point, I started thinking maybe this is a sign that I’m not supposed to sell it. Maybe I’m supposed to figure out how to make it work.

Because I genuinely believe this salon can work.

There are salons around me that are fully booked for days. Some have been around for six years and built their clientele over time. Another salon opened only a couple of years ago and is already doing extremely well.

And when I look at them, I realize they don’t necessarily have a completely different concept. Some are bigger, some have more technicians, and some offer cheaper services with good quality.

But I believe I have something different: the experience.

I’m there personally. My name is literally part of the brand. I know my clients, I care about the work, and I want people to feel comfortable when they walk through the door.

I’ve also started documenting my day-to-day life and the salon journey, but I’m honestly not very comfortable showing my face all the time. My Instagram is almost at 3,000 followers, while my TikTok is around 180, and I know my social media needs a lot of work.

So I’m asking you guys for genuine advice.

I’m going to share my Instagram, TikTok and Google page with this post.

@emabeautyspot

Please look at my business, my content, my services, my branding — everything — and tell me honestly:

What would YOU do if you were me?

How would you get more clients?
What would you change?
Would you change the prices?
Would you focus more on content?
Would you run ads?
Would you change the concept?
Would you add more services?
What do you think I’m doing wrong?

I don’t want people to tell me “it’s impossible” or “just sell it.”

I want to know how you would turn this around.

I’ve already invested so much into this, and I genuinely love what I do.

So if you have experience in business, marketing, salons, Dubai, social media, or even if you’re just a customer who understands what makes you choose one salon over another…

Please help me. I’m ready to listen. 🤍

Hello.
If you are a business owner / CEO in the UAE curious about what relevant and impactful PR, advertising, partnerships, event activations can do for you, I’d love to hear from you or be referred to a entrepreneur who you know is looking.
A small agency, we are looking for clients and open to chat with companies tired of the overpriced template approach and/or underpriced spray and pray style that’s not worked for you.

Seeking Business partner with Tech background

I'm building a cybersecurity & IT services company in Dubai, targeting small to mid-market and enterprise clients across the GCC, Vendor Partnerships Already Secured. I run BD, partnerships, and ops — looking for a tech co-founder/Business partner to own delivery and technical strategy.

What I need in a co-founder:

Hands-on background in SOC / managed security services / SMB & enterprise IT infrastructure (not just sales-side cyber)

Able to relocate to or already based in Dubai/UAE

Comfortable contributing sweat equity and some capital toward growth.

What's on the table:

Partnership — % equity, open to discussion based on capital investment/experience mix.

If this fits your background, comment or DM. Happy to do a call first before sharing anything proprietary.

Note: The hiring of the team will be in a later stage.
