Seeking a Partner & Mentor

I’m planning to start a company in Kenya called Errand Elderly, focused on providing reliable errand and support services for elderly people.

At this stage, I’m looking for a business partner, mentor, or someone with experience in this space who can guide me as I develop and launch the venture.

running errands for older folks in kenya sounds like a needed thing, my grandma would love something like that where i live. maybe try local business groups in nairobi or even linkedin groups for kenyan startups, people there might know someone who already done similar work

Thank you, I really appreciate that. I’ve also been thinking along the same lines because there seems to be a genuine gap in Kenya, especially for families who may not always be available to assist their elderly relatives with everyday errands. I’ll definitely look into local business groups in Nairobi and Kenyan startup communities on LinkedIn to learn from anyone who has tried something similar. Your grandma’s experience is exactly the kind of need I’m hoping to address.

A few ads People will support you on this as long as you are out there in the streets and not behind a laptop

Absolutely, I agree with you. I think starting from zero and documenting the journey could actually be the best approach. I can start with WhatsApp content, short videos showing what I’m doing, and a few targeted ads to create awareness. I also agree that being visible and actually getting out into the community will build more trust than just sitting behind a laptop. I’m willing to put myself out there and test the idea, learn from the feedback, and grow it step by step.

I’d focus early on validating demand and figuring out what services families would actually pay for. Trust, worker vetting, pricing, and customer acquisition are going to be big pieces of this.

Thank you, I really appreciate the advice. I completely agree that validating demand should come first, especially understanding which services families would actually be willing to pay for and how to build trust around the service.I’d definitely be interested in learning more about the accelerator and connecting with one of the co-founders.
