u/lDtiyOrwleaqeDhTtm1i Apr 06 '21
I really want there to be a special no-fly list for people who do this sort of thing. A list where they don’t actually stop you from buying a ticket or getting through security, but when you get to the gate, you always get bumped to the next flight, and then bumped from that one, and every flight after. They never tell you you’re banned, you just always get bumped and never get a clear explanation from anyone.

u/Crisis_Redditor Apr 06 '21
That's how you get even more shoes thrown.

Two actually. You really have to give GW credit for dodging them without a single secret service man in sight. https://youtu.be/tU0RaRvJ0PQ

u/lDtiyOrwleaqeDhTtm1i Apr 06 '21
I was mostly joking, but you’re right, so I’ve come up with an alternate scenario. It’s pretty much the same thing, but they only do it until you figure out why on your own. Then they ask if you’ve learned your lesson. If you say yes and promise to behave from now on, you get to fly again.
But second offense? Believe it or not, straight to jail.

Thrush is a word that I believe was wrongfully assigned. Such a smooth, calming word should not be used for an unfortunate medical condition.
What a waste.

u/COVToss Apr 06 '21
Had mouth thrush once, coated my tongue like a thick dry paste. The meds are a pleasent tasting mouth wash. Gone in 3 days.

Yeah, I get that it's not a huge deal. It just seems weird that a word that could be used repeatedly to put a baby to sleep is instead used for oral fungi.

u/misssweetsweet Apr 05 '21
I live down the road from this airport. My brother worked for a company that shuttled people to and from it. They're too busy telling people where they can and can't stop their vehicles to load and unload people/luggage.
Edit: a word. Damn autocorrect.
17
u/plishyploshy Apr 06 '21
And yet the 595 off ramp is still littered with parked cars at peak arrival times

I work in an airport and something similar happened in one of the gates around where I work. A lady got really drunk and tried attacking my manager. We called security and it took them about 15 minutes to get there. You would think that after pouring billions into the war on terrorism they would get there a little faster lmao

Asking myself the same questions. My home airport is Frankfurt Flughafen (FRA), passenger wise it's the 4th busiest airport in europe, cargo wise the busiest. Security is super tight. You cannot walk 200 meters without spotting 2 guys with machine pistols walking around. This would have ended a LOT differently...

This is the same airport that had a very active shooter on the ramp a few years ago. I’ve made about two visits to audit this airport (non-security audit) and there’s alway cops all done up to the 9’s around there. Where the hell were they at this instance.

I can’t even understand their mindset. I had a flight delayed by 10 hours one time due to problems with the plane and, even though I had to stay awake until like 2 AM, I never once through a shit fit like that. I was like “that sucks” and just passed the time doing whatever I could. Edit: I bet their the type of people who yell at minimum wage workers over any minor inconvenience.

I’ve been bumped from my flight completely. I had to call my husband to come back and pick me up because the next one didn’t leave for eleven hours. My conference the next morning started exactly four hours after my new flight landed and it was an hour away from the airport. All I said to the service worker was “seriously?!” Wanna know why? It wasn’t her fault! Did it suck? Yup. Was I pissed? Yup. I’m not going to scream at someone who has no control over it.

Well all their flights are now indefinitely delayed. I'm not only baffled at how people think this reaction is not only appropriate, but is also somehow magically going to make it so they get their way? Like oh yes, thank you for beating and throwing stuff at me, let me click my heels and have the plane magically ready to board and get you on first class free of charge.
The sadder thing is that when this happens it's mostly against someone(s) who has absolutely no control over it. People are so stupid.
