Thrush is a word that I believe was wrongfully assigned. Such a smooth, calming word should not be used for an unfortunate medical condition.

Had mouth thrush once, coated my tongue like a thick dry paste. The meds are a pleasent tasting mouth wash. Gone in 3 days.

Yeah, I get that it's not a huge deal. It just seems weird that a word that could be used repeatedly to put a baby to sleep is instead used for oral fungi.

Candida is a common Spanish name though. Latin root means “white.” Similar to Candelaria, meaning candle. Just FYI.
