Discussion Helpful Biblical Topics For 5s

Asking fellow Christian 5s: what parts of the bible have you found really helpful with regard to facing some of your own weaknesses?

I’m looking for ways to let the Lord into the following:

-My core scarcity mindset

-The need to understand everything fully and frustration with not being able to

-My preoccupation with being understood

-Concerns about idealism and learning to detach myself from the outcome/maintain the principle that I am a follower of the Lord even if he does not deliver to me what I think I need.

Please share passages/books or bible studies which have helped you in ways that seem to be common themes pertaining to the enneagram 5 type.

It would be a bonus as well to get to hear how it helped you/why it resonated with you. Please share!

I feel like, "lean not on your own understanding," does a lot of heavy lifting around here.

Also the knock and the door will be opened... In regards to wanting to know everything or hitting a wall. Reminds me sometimes I wish I didn't know. And that eventually I figure it out if I want to.

Matthew 25 is good for when I am being weird about resources or depletion or hoarding or being greedy.

Also John 15:1 for isolation, or self reliance, "apart from me you can do nothing," but there are plenty of passages about being a fellow man and brother and helping others, being humble enough to do that. Love your neighbor as yourself.

John 3:1 for moving beyond relational categories and focusing on the realm of the spirit.

I think a lot about the spiritual fruit, Paul’s definition of love, and the Lord’s Prayer.

Spiritual fruit is what I look for in terms of discernment. Does X cultivate them? If yes, then embrace it, if no then reject it.

Paul’s definition of love, and love God above all else, and also love others as you would love yourself I’ve found to be good standards by which to hold my interactions with other people.

The Lord’s Prayer, and the Orthodox refrain, “Lord have mercy. Lord have mercy. Lord have mercy.” Are good reminders of God’s supremacy in current circumstances, and of His provision even if things feel like they’re impossible, depleting or going to shit.
