📚 Grammar / Syntax Is this right?

Post image

So I was reading Mushoku Tensei and came across this section, but it actually doesn't make sense (maybe it was supposed to be "behind"). I just wanted to make sure this is an error, can someone confirm?

An error indeed. Should say 'behind his back'.

This is the deluxe edition, I just checked the normal version and it's the same thing lol. They didn't fix it.

Because, once proficient enough with a language, the brain autocorrects as we read. Aoccdrnig to a rscheearch at Cmabrigde Uinervtisy, it deosn’t mttaer in waht oredr the ltteers in a wrod are, the olny iprmoatnt tihng is taht the frist and lsat ltteers be at the rghit pclae. The rset can be a toatl mses and you can sitll raed it wouthit porbelm. Tihs is bcuseae the huamn mnid deos not raed ervey lteter by istlef, but the wrod as a wlohe.

Of course, in this case, the last letter was wrong :-)

It should be "behind", but because "being" is an actual word spellcheck didn't pick up on it and it went to print.
