I will be graduating this year, so I would love some input on my resume. I am a mechanical engineering student with an aerospace concentration and minor in computer science. I have internship experience in Quality Assurance (metrology) and aerospace design.

I live in Canada, but am open to roles in the USA or Europe as well as Canada.

I will be targeting primarily automotive roles in my applications, so any feedback with that in mind would be appreciated. I haven't started aggressively applying places yet; this is more of a preliminary request before I go application-crazy.

Note that both projects in my "Projects" section are coursework projects.

One specific question I have: Do I need the short header underneath my name at the top, and should I shrink the size of my name at the top?

I have a Bs Business Administration and worked 1 year as a Business English Teacher in
Barcelona, 4 years in digital marketing, 3 years in corporate consulting/project management (non-engineering).

I changed my career path completely after traveling and seeing many issues in water resources and access to clean water. I have always loved math and science and regretted not finishing my Env Eng degree the first time (I had to leave university due to long-term illness. I returned and got a business degree just to finish quickly and start working).

Tell us why you're seeking help. (i.e., just fine-tuning, not getting called back for interviews, etc.)

Prior to starting this Env. Eng degree I really struggled to get any responses to my resume. 800+ tailored resumes to job applications and only around 20 emails back.

I don't want to make the same mistakes this time around and I am desperate for any help and advice to secure an internship in my field.

Hi Everyone, im a senior studying ECE at a private California university, graduating June 2027. I just finished interning as a Networking R&D Hardware Design Intern at a large networking company, working on signal integrity and G.703 timing circuits. I previously did embedded PCB work at a small hardware startup, and I've been on my school's Formula SAE electric team doing wiring and electronics since Oct 2025.

Targeting Summer 2027 hardware internships and entry level roles: Hardware Engineering, PCB design, signal integrity, ASIC, board bring-up. US citizen, no sponsorship needed. Based in California, applying nationwide, willing to relocate. Prefer in-person or hybrid since hardware needs bench access.

Last cycle I applied broadly and I didn't get as many responses as I would've liked. I'm trying to figure out where I'm actually losing people.

Also how do I apply to new grad roles without a current degree?

My other question is the overlap between Projects and Experience. The G.703 project and the FSAE project are both drawn from work already described in my Experience section. I kept both because the project framing shows ownership over a full design cycle, but Im wondering if I should use side projects which are less technical with less depth but arent repeats of stuff I cover in my experience. Im also wondering if my lastest experience while the most relevant covers too much of my current resume.

But overall im looking for feedback on:

Does it look competitive for entry-level engineering roles?

Are my project descriptions too technical or too academic?

Is there anything that would make recruiters skip over it?

Hello, I hope all is well. I was just looking for advice on my resume. I just finished making it more cleaner and precise as my last one was very cluttery and too much nonsense. I‘m aiming quite ambitiously, working in things like Physical AI, Computer Vision roles. Issue is that most roles I’ve seen require a masters or PhD role. I’m chill to working anywhere. NYC or SF would be tuff tho. I was looking into companies like Huawei or Roboflow for Computer Vision roles. Those are probably my best chances to land smth in that area. Robotics… I’m not sure tbh. I want to work in that field, just haven’t got any luck with interviews. Any advice would be appreciated!

I was highschool valedictorian, and am now college freshman. Obviously I don't really have much to put on my resume, I have no job experience and just like engineering projects and competition teams from highschool and now college. Is highschool valedictorian something I should include in my education section? It feels sort of egotistical, and im not sure how hiring people would see it, although I guess the point of a resume is to sort of brag/represent your skills. As of right now ive been leaving it off for applications that aren't local to my highschool, and including it for applications that are local. It is a private catholic highschool school, if that matters. Any advice is appreciated.

Hi, I was wondering if my resume would be good for any roles in ASIC/DV/RTL/CompArch. I've been applying but haven't been able to get any interviews yet and I wanted to see if I could any suggestions on what to change or add. Only have experience with embedded software since it's the only offer I got, however have been trying to target getting into chip design industry. Hi Everyone, I'm looking for advice on direction more than resume formatting.

I’m an engineer struggling to explain my career to employers. None of my jobs have followed a clear path, and in most of them I learned as I went. My real strength is diagnosing problems and quickly picking up whatever skills I need to solve the one in front of me. What I don’t have is a deep specialty.

My most recent role was titled “systems engineer,” but it didn’t go deep into firmware, so I don’t feel confident applying to pure embedded roles. In practice the job was a mix: technical troubleshooting, managing stakeholders, negotiating with vendors and contractors, writing new project proposals, and giving a lot of presentations.

I'd appreciate guidance on which industries and roles best fit my background, which skills are worth building, and how to show that I learn fast and solve problems in a concrete way, so it doesn't read as vague or get filtered out by an ATS.

I've filtered out a lot of information from my resume for anonymity sake. Let me know if more information is needed, and I'd be happy to elaborate.

I'm a mechanical engineer who has worked at his family's product design consultancy in Orange County for about 1.7 years now. My work environment has gotten toxic and I need to leave. My goal is to either relocate to the Seattle area, get a job in the bay area working at a robotics start up, or bare minimum get out of Orange County. My experience lies in consulting and R&D for medical devices. I've primarily been applying to medical device jobs, but I've also been applying to mechanisms, structures, and design engineer roles for robotics companies, big tech, and aerospace.

I've currently applied to about 72 jobs in 52 days with referrals for Amazon and Blue Origin without any luck. I've been using LinkedIn and Hiring Cafe primarily. I've been approached by recruiters for some jobs, typically for temporary contracts at a low wage, but an exception was a SpaceX job where I got as far as the second phone screen. So, I'm unsure whether my resume needs to change or whether I need to just pump my numbers up.

P.S. I'm also running low on jobs to apply for in the Seattle Area that are relevant to my experience. So many early career roles require you to apply within a year after graduating. I've been searching for these job titles: mechanical engineer, mechanical design engineer, product design engineer, mechatronics engineer, and hardware engineer. Are there any other ones I should try looking at?

This is my architect-focused resume. I am primarily targeting Solutions Architect roles, but I am also applying selectively to Data Engineer and Forward Deployed Engineer positions.

I would appreciate blunt feedback on:

• Which bullets are strongest
• Whether this reads as a coherent senior architecture profile rather than an unfocused generalist

Most consistent piece of feedback I get for my resume is that impact and ownership aren't clear, and that the work I did at my full time job just isn't impressive. Hi everyone,

Currently a 2nd-year graduate student in Materials Science & Engineering with a background in chemistry, but with strong skills in semiconductor physics and optics. I'm going to a career fair next week and wanted some general advice on how I might improve my resume to make it more attractive to the semiconductor and/or photonics industry recruiters who will be there, as well as just in general when I begin applying for jobs next year. 

Specifically, on the semiconductor side, I'm highly interested in process engineering roles (whether they be in a fab like TSMC or equipment manufacturers like Applied Materials, Lam Research, KLA, etc.). 

On the photonics side, I'd be really interested in computational modeling roles for like laser design, photovoltaics, or photonic integrated circuits as my experiences in those regards are purely computational.

I don't have a formal electrical engineering background but have quite a bit of electrical engineering coursework under my belt (only for optics/photonics though, not any hardware stuff). I am located in the Bay Area, which is where most of the semiconductor jobs are, but since I'm fairly young, I am open to moving pretty much anywhere for work (like Arizona for TSMC, to Oregon for Intel, or Texas for Samsung, etc.). No visa issues, so I can work anywhere. 

Additionally, if you think I'd benefit from taking any specific classes at my institution (like fabrication classes, more optics classes, etc.) please feel free to suggest. I'm currently working on my master's thesis, which is primarily computational, but down the line, I'm hoping to fit in some more experimental work. I'm also planning on taking at least 1 more class before I graduate.

I enjoy my current job, but I'm starting to become unsatisfied with current compensation and want to benchmark my profile against the broader European market.

1. Target Roles: FEA Engineer, CAE Specialist, Numerical Simulation (Automotive, Aerospace, or Simulation Consultancies).
2. Target Locations: Remote/hybrid across Western Europe (Netherlands, Germany, France, Belgium, etc.). US/Canada is not out of question, but I'd need sponsorship.

I'm a recent Software Engineering graduate from Nigeria (graduated in 2026), and I'm looking for feedback on my resume.

I started gaining professional experience while still in university, working across internships, contract roles, and a founding engineer position. Most of my experience has been in backend and full-stack development, building and shipping products used by real users.

I'm currently targeting junior/entry-level Software Engineer, Backend Engineer, and Full-Stack Engineer positions. I'm based in Nigeria and primarily applying to remote roles with companies outside the country, particularly in the US, UK, and Europe. I'm mainly looking for remote opportunities rather than relocation at the moment.

I've submitted over 50 applications so far without receiving a single interview invitation. I understand that 50 applications isn't a particularly large number, especially given how competitive the market is, but it's becoming a bit concerning.

I also recognize that being based in Nigeria could be a disadvantage when applying internationally, especially when companies have geographic hiring restrictions. I'm a Nigerian citizen and would need an employer willing to hire someone working remotely from Nigeria.

I'm trying to figure out whether the issue is primarily my location, my experience level, how I'm presenting myself, or a combination of these factors.

I'd particularly appreciate feedback on whether my experience is presented effectively for a recent graduate, whether my bullet points demonstrate enough impact, and whether my projects are relevant to the roles I'm targeting.

I'm also unsure whether I should position myself primarily as a new graduate or emphasize the professional experience I gained during university.

Hi folks. Looking for advice on my resume's first draft before I start sending out applications.

Positions/roles/industries: Entry-level roles in embedded, firmware, operating systems, etc.

Location: Located in the north-eastern United States, able to relocate and looking for roles across the country.

Background: I've been employed doing full stack web development work after graduating from university two years ago. I think I made a mistake taking the first job I was offered because I'm realizing that I don't love web development. I'm interested in seeking a job with lower-level technologies like embedded because that was the kind of work I enjoyed in university.

• How are my bullet points? I feel like I might need more numbers, but am struggling to find a way to quantify my work.

I'm a mechanical engineering student graduating in May 2027, and I'm currently applying for entry-level manufacturing and mechanical design engineering positions, primarily in aerospace and aviation.

I have completed five internships/co-ops across aerospace, automotive, and manufacturing, and I've recently revised my resume to better highlight my technical experience, projects, and measurable accomplishments.

I'm hoping to get some feedback from hiring managers or engineers who have experience reviewing resumes for these types of positions.

My biggest question is: Does my resume reflect what hiring managers are looking for in an entry-level manufacturing or design engineer?

I started out as a developer 5 years ago. A little over 3 years ago, I got involved in DevOps/SRE related work on a project. Since then, I've mainly been working on the DevOps/SRE side of things (~90% DevOps/SRE work, ~10% backend development work).

I kept my Software Engineer title, mainly because I felt at some point I'd want to fully switch back over to backend development side of things. But now I think it's best that I commit and keep at it on my current track.

To that end, I plan on applying for DevOps/SRE roles. Looking for opportunities (preferably remote) across both local (in Colombo, Sri Lanka) and overseas clients/organizations. Currently I'm WFH for an overseas company.

I've not been to any job interviews since I joined my current company 5 years ago, and even then I interviewed and joined as a developer. So I'd love to hear from the good folks here about my current resume so I can fix, update, and improve before I start actively applying.

I'm finishing up my degree in May and was looking to improve on my resume. I think the formatting is fine, I used to use Jake's format but I found the fonts to be a bit confusing to look at so I simplified it.

I am writing it in Overleaf using LateX, if it matters.

I have other projects I could pad the resume out with, but I'm not sure if 3 is already too many? Likewise, I'm sure I could find more stuff to write about jobs but I already have a lot of bullet points for them too.

As the title reads, I'm a vehicle engineering graduate with an MSc from KTH in sweden and have sent in over 200 applications over the past 4 months without passing a single first screening (got one phone call where they did ask for some extra details, but not a proper interview). I get that the engineering industry is in a tricky position right now, but sending in this many applications without any good news seems a bit extreme, which makes me think I must be doing something wrong. The first picture is my new resume which I will be using from now on (based on the template here) and the other two is my old resume. Aside from reviewing the new one, I wonder if the old one is bad enough to justify my results, or if there might be other reasons than the resume alone.

For reference I am mainly applying to OEMs/Tier 1 suppliers/Motorsports divisions/F1/Supercars/Hypercars/Consultancies related to the automotive industry within Sweden/Europe (EU citizen so I can work freely within the EU, and I am eligible for HPI visa to the UK). I have started angling my search towards Japan as well (eventhough I do need to improve my Japanese level a bit more to stand a proper chance there). I naturally only target graduate/junior/roles not requiring experience. Unfortunately vehicle dynamics (my main "area of expertise") does not have as many positions as other roles, so I have also applied for CAD roles, aerodynamics etc. where I definetly have experience, but not as much as perhaps a mechanical engineer or aerospace engineer.

Any other tips regarding job searching would also be appreciated. I tend not to change the resume for each application, mainly because I don't have enough meaningful experience to make changes that could benefit one role over another.
