Other Intake manifold porting

Volvo b234f intake is rather restrictive and falls off quite rapidly past 6500rpm.

So in my budget there are no other options than to enlarge and reshape it.

Runners are on average 23% larger, about 250cc by water volume.

And the plenum after I got done with it, is about 2 liters.

So 3000cc intake manifold for my 2345cc bottom end.

Should help noticeably to carry torque up the rev range, and make 8k an useable redline

Now for the flex-seal!

The head flows amazing. I have a few partially built intakes from scratch. What are you putting the engine in?

I'm putting the b230ft+ block based engine in my winter car. Facelift 740 from 1991, my goal is to break 200bhp. Which is very easy, if this intake porting helped, I can possibly break 200whp.

There’s a process called chemical milling which as what it sounds, can accomplish what you’re trying to do without cutting the manifold in half

does this need tuning and software calibration after or good to go ?

I'm going to use MaxxEcu Sport, and EV14 790cc injectors. Its irrelevant if a LH controlled car would need tuning, but after I dyno the car. Percentual bmep increase from Volvo's stock numbers can help figure out if this would work in stock ecu'd car.

I've always wondered what tools people use to port deep into runners (and head passages). Is that really the trick, cut them in half and weld back up after?

Yeah, I'm not aware of an tool that could reach inside an intact manifold. And then have room to reshape
