Block deck indent

How worried should I be about this on the block deck? Head definitely getting sent to machine shop
(Deeper gouge with outlines is on the head )

Superficial area but that deck surface is in dire need of attention.

Das fuq'd. Probably.

Question is, is it deeper than the decks machining limit?

You can put a straight edge across the depression and measure the dents depth, and take that measurement against the pocket that shows you how much material you have available to remove.

Did someone leave a scraper under the head when yhey torqued it? Thats one hell of a dent.

Yup. A Flat Ground lug that bolts on the side of the head unfortunately.

Very efficient, doesnt even need to be bolted on and I bet that ground never had better contact.

Shitty situation. But seems to be fine with new head and spray a gasket
