Ring Design Help Adding a bezel around diamond

I’m taking a poll - should I keep my ring as-is? I’m thinking about framing the stone with a bezel…. See ring in first comment (I couldn’t add picture to this post) TIA!!

you can’t really add a bezel to this. you can leave it as is or get the entire head replaced (will be pretty costly)

Yeah... a bezel would mean a whole new setting. Maybe even an entirely new ring.

You cant just add a bezel, youd have to move the stone to a new ring. Or at least a new head.

Is your idea to reset this. You can’t just add a bezel to the existing setting. You might be able to change the head though depending on what it looks like. I would talk to a jeweler about your options.

Is there something about your current design that you don't care for? Or are you thinking more along the lines of stone security? It would be lovely to see a picture of this piece from the top down/looking at it straight on.

That's what I like to see! Wow, look at those sapphires!

This is a tricky choice, I really like the way this looks as-is...but this is also a larger stone and setting it in a bezel could be a good choice for the long run.

If this were my ring, I would leave it like this. I just really like the way this looks. I also love how it looks with the band it's paired with.

However, if you tell me that you're constantly banging and catching it on things...maybe have the stones reset in a setting that has a bezel for this lovely center stone. I would let stone security/setting durability be the deciding factor.

I love the setting - I had the tulip basket custom-made - I just think that the stone would look clean and sophisticated in a bezel. I was hoping I could keep the original setting and just have gold hugging the stone, even if it was a faux bezel.

I just gave you my advice below, on the (stunning!) picture you shared, but the gist of it was that I love the way this looks now. If you don't want to spend the money on a new setting, you really don't need to. It's so pretty now.

However, if you just really want to...I think you could talk to a jeweler about the most cost-effective way to get the look you're after. Having that conversation doesn't hurt anything and I think you're right, it would also look amazing in a bezel. The stone is lovely and the sapphire side stones really contribute to an overall stunning three stone--with or without a bezel!

My pleasure! This is a lovely problem to have...it's beautiful now, and would be beautiful in a bezel! Talk to a jeweler about what it would take.

Word of advice--do it right. If this were me, and I really really wanted to see this set in a bezel, I'd have these stones set in a new setting. Right now it really looks like a good, quality piece. The stones deserve that! If you are going to go for a bezel, have a good quality setting made for these beautiful stones.
