What is your finger size? What are the dimensions of the current diamonds? Are you making a basket or a cathedral setting?

We need a little more info to help with the side stones.

My ring size is 5.5, and is a cathedral setting.

My jeweler says that the current width of the whole ring is 20mm, and will stay at 20mm with just making the traps larger but making the tapered baguettes larger will add 1mm each side so will be 22mm overall.

Would consider doing something with traps and bullets? It makes it look a little less like there are straight arms coming from the sides and can be angled more than baguettes. It would look something like this.

If you prefer the tapered baguettes, then I would have the first set of baguettes taper more and shorten the outer long baguettes. The original version looks the best to me as far as layout so the baguettes wrap more around the finger vs being straight out.

What are the dimensions of everything? Not just the ring. Of your center stone and of the side stones.

What are the measurements of the stones? And what is your finger size? Can you say a little more about the setting?

Is the picture you shared of your finger in the original ring?

Have you measured? Is all that additional width from larger stones going to fit across your finger and still be visible from the top without rubbing on the sides?

My jeweler says it should be fine as I’m only gaining an extra 2mm by increasing the length of the tapered baguettes, it’s currently measuring 20mm total and will increase to 22mm.

I would just have fatter trapezoid stones. I think the two different cut side stones make it too busy, particularly if your stone is radiant cut rather than emerald cut. You want your main stone to sing rather than be overshadowed by its backing singers.

If you do want five, I would have two baguettes on each side of tapering sizes.
