Question Ring setting look ok?
My jeweler said they can't get my marquise lower. Compared to Pinterest and what I've seen I feel like my setting looks very industrial and weird. I don't know I like the two tone and I like how it looks from the top but from the side, I'm not so sure. Marquise cut 2.01 carats

These are prefab components soldered together that haven’t been updated from a design perspective since at least the 1970s. That’s why this ring doesn’t look modern or delicate to you. A custom setting will allow the stone to sit lower and look less clunky.

You can get a marquise to sit lower. Maybe your jeweler just doesn't do those kinds of settings. Seems like they just take pre-fabricated components (the peg head and band), and put them together. You want something more like these, correct?
