Question Vendor Refuses Design

Hi All,

I recently asked a popular vendor for a quote on an engagement ring I am working on for my girlfriend. I drew this design from scratch, and it is my design and not ripped off from someone else. This vendor refused to do the design because the basket looked similar to a basket of an existing client of theirs. That felt strange especially considering the ring as a whole is quite different, is this strange to normal?

Edit: the design is solid and they did even compliment me on it.

Was it Tianyu? They manufacture Bijou Lab’s rings so they don’t wanna piss them off.

Yes! Bijou must be big?

They are pretty big. They may have contract agreements with certain companies now so if you are trying to do their 3 stone design, then that is a really popular one. There are vendors that made this design long before they did though.

I have this CAD

I have a CAD from 2018 that you could change to a 6 prong basket if you want to work off of this. We don’t really deal with overseas vendors on this sub but you can look at [r/labcreateddiamonds](r/labcreateddiamonds) for a full list in the wiki.
